Why Do I Keep Sinning?

We don’t keep sinning because we have to, but because we want to. Holiness, in large part, is a battle of pleasures.

So instead of using self discipline to not sin, i will use self discipline to seek and love jesus christ. And the more i do this the more sin dies off of me. I am dead to sin and alive in christ jesus. :)....

We sin because we are in the flesh. That's why we need Jesus. There is nothing we can do to escape it while we are alive, so we have to follow Christ until the end.

I wish I didn't have the ability to sin I'm saved but I still sin I wish after salvation I could be sinless

Sometimes I think that I am dumb!I keep on doing the same mistakes...I always pray that God might help me but nothing changes...it kills me not being able to please God !

I struggle with sin daily. But I seen this somewhereand saved it for myself.

"Why do we still sin then?" We sin because
we still focus on our conduct rather than
our beliefs. It is the beautiful scandal of the
gospel that the only way to be free from sin
is to stop trying to be free from sin! Paul
himself said that "the strength of sin is the
law" (I Corinthians 15:56). If we insist on
being conduct focused we will continue to be slaves to sin. If we change gears and focus on our beliefs, we will inherit a greater reality, that we are righteous in Christ!"

Really it’s all about what you give to.. if you give to sin or worship of idols and sow to the flesh then you reap corruption. If you give to Christ and sow to the spirit, you reap eternal life. Simple as that

Guys I watched a show with really bad language and that used Gods name in awful awful ways. And I chose to watch that instead of spend time with God pray for me as this is happening in my life spiritually 💙

blessed by your words praise Jesus. I have been saved since the age of 7 and I am 54 now. I have learned that we have the power to say no to sin through Christ Jesus. When I practiced sin in my 20s I did it because I wanted to and I did not seek First the Kingdom of God and I stopped reading my bible daily I would still read it but maybe 3 or 4 times a week, not every day as I did before. God showed me that only He can open eyes and with His Holy Spirit can keep us living right making the right choices.

He allowed me to go through the pain of not seeking Him every day even though it was only 3 months when I was 27 it was my worst 3 months ever. When we sin we choose to sin but we really do not have to sin because Jesus gave us the power to say no when we really want to say no it is possible. Until God allows the devil to bring distress in our lives that is when we decide we had enough and do not want to go through the pain of our sin.

If God allowed everyone to get away with their sin without receiving the punishment people would continue to sin and it would be worse in this world. God wants us to live in peace and He will make sure to keep all of us in line so we do not give those around us grief.

Like many people want to get married but they live like the devil while saying they're Christians and God sees them and know their thoughts. God keeps these people single until He changes them so it will keep these people from ruining someone else's life with the sinful ways they do not want to give up. When we decide to stop practicing sin our bodies start to ache because we are getting delivered from the addiction some people cannot take the pain so they keep the sin. I say go through the pain which is horrible but once God sets you free you never go back because of not wanting to go through that pain ever again. God gives us the horrible pain so we do not do that sin again to avoid the pain because sin does hurt.

John 5:14Afterward Jesus found him in the temple, and said to him, “See, you have been made well. Sin no more, lest a worse thing come upon you.”

1 Peter 5:10 But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.

Galatians 4:9 But now after you have known God, or rather are known by God, how is it that you turn again to the weak and beggarly elements, to which you desire again to be in bondage?

Acts 10:38 how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.

1 John 3: 8
He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.

Luke 8: 12 Those by the wayside are the ones who hear; then the devil comes and takes away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.

John 8:44 You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.

Can I just say how much joy it gives me to see how Mr. Piper's face lights up as he comes to the answer of all problems and all sins.
The Aura of authenticity he has is absolutely amazing and how the love of God flows out of him like living water just makes me smile like a little kid. He understands all Glory to God.

Excellent! I chide myself over the "will power" deliverance from sin, and my lack of it. But Pastor John hits the nail on the head with Scripture! The superior pleasure of saving grace will never exalt our ego!! It will humble us!! Amen.
