Why I’m NOT Upgrading to the M3 MacBook

The 2023 MacBook Pro with M3 Max is tempting but honestly, my 2021 14” MacBook Pro with M1 Max is still so good I don’t need to upgrade.

M1 MacBook Air has never done me wrong and continues to impress me with battery life

I still have an M1 MacBook Air and the only reason I would want to upgrade is because of the measly 8GB of RAM, I thought storage was more important for me at the time and I chose the 512GB SSD over the RAM upgrade, which was fine in 2021, but it's clearly starting to show its limits. I would also love to have the ProMotion Display, but I don't feel the need to spend almost $2000 CAD just for that.

Still have the M1 Pro 16, and I have no plans to upgrade any time soon. This laptop has been perfect besides the screen failing just months out of warranty ($900 repair).

The M1 chip is really good, the only thing that would get a lot of people to upgrade is an Oled screen, speakers, materials, colors, and maybe cellular connection. Just like with a new IPhone, people want a new one for many things but not many need a more powerful IPhone since they are already very powerful for phones.

I didn’t have a MacBook. Never owned one in my 34 years of life. But I bought one 3 days ago and I absolutely love it. Like a whole new interesting world or computers. Glad I went with the MacBook Pro m3 pro 16”

I'm in the same boat. My M1 MacBook Pro 💻 is nearly 2 years old but it's still the best laptop I've ever owned. I do Photoshop, video editing, have 40 Chrome Tabs open, 8 other programs, and I am not even scratching the surface of the M1 MBP's capabilities. The laptop is in near mint-condition, with no wear. At current usage, the battery will last another 3-4 years. They will have to make SIGNIFICANT improvements to make it worth upgrading. Looks like I won't be upgrading until M6 or so ....LOL 🤣 ...The same is true of the iPhone. I have an iPhone 13 Pro Max... I "may" upgrade when the iPhone 18 comes out! LOL 😆

My M2 Macbook air is just working very good and is exactly doing what I needed I had just bought this laptop 3 to 4 months back and its a great upgrade from my 4 years old HP laptop which was about 400 dollars

I like it when people stick to their devices when they have the ability to get the latest and greatest everytime. These are tools and they are for specific work. As long as they're doing their job, there's no reason to replace them!
