Destiny 2 Players are FURIOUS Bungie is Removing DLC Content...

Bungie announced The Tangled Shore and Forsaken Campaign are BEING REMOVED! And many Destiny 2 Players are very Upset! Did Bungie make a mistake? Or are people overreacting?

This is after the new Witch Queen Gameplay Trailer, and Bungie 30th Anniversary Event Reveal during the Destiny 2 Showcase Event during Year 4 of Destiny 2: Beyond Light in the most recent Bungie TWAB! The new Destiny 2 Season 15, Season of the Lost is out now for PC, the Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PS5! But today, Bungie announced what is Going into the DCV and being removed when the Witch Queen DLC launches! But this has made many players upset! Did Bungie make a mistake removing Paid DLC content?

I dunno I just never understood them removing the red war campaign and such. It gave a new player like myself a branching off point for the lore and eased me into the game. After taking a break for years and coming back I was ultra confused and felt dropped into the deep end with no explanation and too much to do.

I don't want Destiny 1 content being "unvaulted". It was never vaulted, it's a completely seperate game.

They should simply drop the 2 from Destiny 2 if it's no longer going to maintain the Destiny 2 content. Call it Destiny: Live and make everyone aware that content is only available for a number of years.

I'd also suggest adding Destiny: Vaulted to the Steam store. Mark it as a test/beta environment. If people want to fill up their PCs with Destiny content that they've paid for let them.

This must feel like a stab in the heart to the writers who put their heart and soul into this game.
A new light player told me that playing destiny feels like picking up a TV show half way into a season but no way to watch the earlier episodes except youtube recaps and "lore"

One gripe I've always had is the fact that bungie or others would say that no one is playing the story content because it wasn't worth our time loot wise, however bungie limited what story missions we could play with the heroic story mission list in year 1 or gives us the ability to play again once per character.

they should really lower the price of these "expansions" if they are just gonna throw away content. Why should we pay 50 quid at time for dlc ( which is base game price btw) if bungie are gonna cut us off?

Love to see things that I paid for being taken away. I dont care if it's old, it's still something I bought. If Bungo is optimizing it in order to bring it back in the future that's a different story. But so far the tradeoff is 2 locations and 2 raids for the price of 5 locations and 5 raids. Not a great start

The only issue I have the them vaulting this, is that they said they “WOULDNT vault anything that hasn’t been free for at least a year” but now they are gonna make it free for 3 months, but then you can also buy a foresaken pack. It’s a bad move on them.

The fact that Bungie is treating a full-on expansion as some kind of temporary thing, is just disgraceful.
Why should anyone buy the next expansion, knowing that it´s going to go away at some point?

Seriously, if the cost of making new content is getting rid of content people already paid for, it´s just not worth it.

How about they give us “The Destiny Vault” a separate game where we get to play old content with our current characters, but we don’t get any of the xp or materials. Just make it stories, places and activities that we could play

When it’s a hardbox copy of an expansion, you feel you still have it after the game phases it out. In a sense. But when you buy digitally then it’s removed, it feels like a more expensive season pass.

All they really need is "era" servers for old content setup for the years game metrics. You choose the server at login and do that segment of content played the way it was originally designed.
