Why not just cut 25 degrees and flip it?

How do you cut the 65° angle safely? By knowing. the difference between inches and degrees.

This saved me when I was doing Wisconsin trims ❤

"50 inches one way and 60 inches the other"

I think you mean degrees. Degrees are not inches

Or you could just flip it, trace the mark and cut it the
easy simple way.

Just a thought, 90° - 25° will give you a 65° angle on the opposite edge. it's probably not as fancy but I think it yields the same result.

I'm probably wrong. Now I have to go try it out.

I've always just used a piece of scrap I already had in the scrap bin instead of creating more, cut with a 45 and mounted on one side not both, fixed in place by a clamp not tape.

Clamping the scrap in place while slightly overextending into the cut path and making an initial cut puts a fresh surface on the face of the jig, and ensures perfect alignment.

I'm usually not a fan of putting tape on a tool as part of a temporary jig, especially hard-to-clean double stick tape adhesive, which has to be removed before the tool can be restored to normal operation.

“All I have to do is move this to 20”

Moves it past to 21/22 😂

Or first you make sure you have a perfect 90 deg at one end, set your miter to 25 deg, put the end (not the side) of your peace against the fence and cut. So called complementary angles. It’s safe because you’re cutting off just the corner of that board but you can make it even safer if you place it against a square board like you did

I wish I knew this when we were installing the star burst rails on our deck.

Thank you i could never understand that till now.

That's a lot of extra work and added danger just to avoid flipping the board over.

If it’s 45 degrees natively then adding 20 degrees in either direction is 65 right?

If that miter saw goes 60” one way and 50”the other I don’t thing angles are your big issue lol I’m just joking this is a good tip though

Where do you get the dust collection attachment for your saw? It looks like it collected the dust much better than the stock on!

Why you remove the central piece with 2 cuts? You can’t do 1 cut and flip 1 side 😅?

That's great, can't wait to use it. Now do you make a bevel cut bevel cut at 60 degrees?
