Thanks for this video! I work in enforcing safety regulations and it breaks my heart to write up a guy because his new boots are falling apart after a couple of months on the job. So many laborers are young guys, guys out of rehab or prison, low wage earners, immigrants, non-union, etc that just can't afford American made boots. Plus none of these guys have medical benefits if they get sore feet and knees from cheap boots. Only a handful of workers get $200 every two or three years towards the purchase of a new boot. That's reality in America and not much better up in Canada. The only guys wearing the horse hide $1000 work boots are the execs that come down to the shop floor from their carpeted offices for the Christmas speech and want to show they wear work boots too. The steel toe version of these boots are still twice the price of the Walmart boots but I think are still attainable for a minimum wage laborer and something I can recommend to them instead of just reprimanding them.

So true. Many people can't afford high priced footwear. Washing dishes at Panda Express is not enough to buy Shell Cordovan Alden and Viberg. I wear this style of boot from Sears DieHard. My cobbler cuts off most of the crappy sole. Then sands it down to the crappy midsole. That allows him to glue on a new wedge sole.

Golden fox won for me with the leather quality and looks at $89 - $30 less than rockrooster ! I just don't care for the pebble finish on the rockrooster

You doing a real solid for so many out there that either can’t afford something pricier or are looking to maybe try something out to see if they like the style before upgrading. Great job.

If you want to do a cheap boot I keep saying do the sears diehard It’s iconic and not bad for the price.

You should do a review of Duradero moc toe boots. They sell for $175 on their website and often have a $50 discount. I bought myself a pair about 6 months ago and really like them. As a bonus, they come with a free resole when they wear out. Duradero boots are made in Mexico.

I've had both boots and I'm not gonna lie. I like the golden fox better. Also there are golden foxes with no lining and leather welts for 120. I've been wearing a pair of my golden fox on the construction sights for a little over a year and they are holding up great.

I have worked around and with plenty of people who view a $100 boot as aspirational, been there a time or too myself, so the fact that someine knowledgeable is bothering to put out information on lower end boots is huge. A lot of people who comment on here act like if you buy cheap you are stupid and seem to forget that many are poor, down on their luck or just starting out. Thanks for putting out the information so that people who have more of a choice can make a more informed choice.

I have had a pair of the Golden Fox Boondockers for about 6 years. I wear them on average one day a week. For the price, they were definitely a good value. They don't have the foam collar and lining like these, just bare leather, with the cotton lining in the vamp. They still look good, and while I usually just wear them around town, I have gone for short hikes in them and worked in them a little. They are super comfortable and judging by how they are wearing, I still have half their life left.

Really nice pleasant surprise to see not one, but TWO decent boots for the price range.

On the Golden Fox I like that it has the brass rivet, where the vamp meets the upper.

I've got two pair of Rockroosters and have had them for four years, one for work and the other to go to town. Love them!

I personally think the Rockrooster Norwood
boots are better made than supposedly USA made boots that are partially outfitted with overseas materials or labor, and cost 2 1/2 times as much if not three times as much for a boot that is on par quality-wise!
The Rock rooster boots are not cheap they are just less expensive than bougie name brands.
I hope everybody finds Rockrooster boots and I hope that their patronage turns it into a great company that will make even better boots in the future based on customer feedback and revenue.
I'm going to tell all my friends about them, a lot of us work in construction in need a good boot for a inexpensive price.
Rockrooster is quality and value!
Thank you Rose Anvil for the good video.

Great video as always. I've been wearing the rockrooster boots now for several months, and I like the insole. I'm 220 lb and I've had no issues with it. Maybe offering to isn't for everyone, but it really does help with my plantar fasciitis. I log and do dirt work, and had bought these as a cheap boot with a more comfortable sole for operating. I do think they could offer a wider toe box but other than that I'm satisfied with it.

I like the detailed analysis in the longer format and am happy to see cheaper boots cut apart as well as pricier ones. It is the only way to know for sure what you're paying for.

Even cheap boots interest me way more than all the crappy sneakers.
It's insane that these boots made from acceptable leather are cheaper than many of the shitty sneakers cut apart in the main channel!

Just wanted to say thank you for making this kind of content. Been following your other channel for a while now and I really appreciate your dedication and hard work. I’m a maintenance worker at a nursing home/skilled nursing facility and spend roughly 50ish hours a week on my feet on hard floors. Before discovering your channel I wasted money on two separate pairs of junk boots from Walmart and Amazon that didn’t last 4 months each, I decided to try a pair of Diehard moc toe boots. Been using them for the past year and a half give or take and they are actually holding up just fine. After this video I’m considering trying out a pair of rock roosters just to see what they’re about. Anyways thanks again, you’ve earned another subscriber.

The Golden Fox insole are EXTREMELY comfortable. I have to stand on my feet when giving classes and use the Golden Fox insoles in my other boots, which include Redwings and Allen Edmonds. I live in Brasil and REALLY wish that Amazon would sell them separately - indeed as Golden Fox does.
