ive been wearing irish setters for years now, and theyre still my favorite bang for the buck. comfort, price and durability are very good. i can get 3 years out of a pair.

I'd like to see a review of the Duradero made in Mexico moc toe. Slightly more expensive at $225, but that price includes one free resole.

KEEN Cincinnati has been my go to work boot for a few years!

I have to comment: This video could really have used a comparison of the lasts and sizing! Even just a rough idea of "this one is narrow, this one is wide, this one has a taller toebox, this one is for thin/thick ankles" etc. I think that's after all probably much more important than most other specs. And even though you can't fit a shoe through a YouTube video, it might help people orient themselves a bit.

Other than that, I loved it and thanks for all the hard work!

I would love to see you cut the Jim Green AR8. I think it is an underrated boot and should be making more noise in the boot community. With leather insoles added, they are probably my favorite boot so far.

Theres a new crazy horse leather Rockrooster! $129, leather welt, vibram outsole, 8" tall. I think its the Mantura? U gotta cut it up. I bought a pair and im liking them a lot!

I’m a moc toe guy and have had several pairs of red wings and they’re great work boots. Even have had them resoled. However, I have a couple pairs of nicks and they’re significantly better. Not sure about other brands but nicks have to be pretty hard to beat.

I own both the Irish Setter and the Rockrooster. I alternate them with my Thorogoods to keep them all fresh. The Irish Setters are my favorite boots for winter weather or rain. The Rockrooster boots have really surprised me. The are super comfortable and look fantastic.

Around 5 or so years ago I bought a pair of of Golden Fox without knowing anything about boots at all. They were 70 bucks. I was starting an indoor production environment job. Those things lasted close to about 3 years of 40-50 hour work weeks before I finally retired them. If the build quality is 'decent' like it was, those things should be great for someone new to wearing boots everyday on the clock, and won't break the bank.

I have 807 Irish setter wingshooters.

They’re oil tanned with a black wedge sole perfect for me as a mechanic

Yeah, it seems the current Perrys are different since they appeared on a Rose Anvil Tier list. Mostly the shank placement and the counter, which got the leather upgrade as far as I came to learn.
Would love an actual update on the now 2y old tier list video.
Love your insights, this is so useful for navigating the space to pick your own price\value point when spending between 200 and 500 stones on a pair, you just don't want to regret an expense like this, when you're not collecting them, but try to establish a minimalists wardrobe.

Outsole traction is by far the most important to me. I walk on snow and ice for half the year. The vibram cristy crepe sole actually grips ice pretty well. They are lacking in loose snow due to shallow tread but are still quite useable.

“Top 5 of the made in China budget boots” is the correct title for this.

I'd love to see how the Made In USA Georgia Moc Toes compare. They're about the same price at 200 dollars depending on model.

I really want to support MITUSA boots but sometimes I simply don't have $300+ available.

I work in n construction, as an electrician. I think the Keen Cincinnati boots would fit in this list. 195 bucks, made in India and are chunky beefy sturdy moc toe work boots with a good fit and toe room. They're probably better than everything here for the price.

I would rather have no lining than a synthetic lining. My red backs wore out and started digging into my toes because of the lining

I bought the whites because of you and they are incredible

Im wearing my golden fox right now. They are the best value in boots. I added a red tanned kilte. After three years of regular wear they could use a new sole but are great otherwise.

I used Rose Anvil's recommendations for buying a good-quality "work boot" and chose the Rock Rooster boot but I bought the boots I wanted. These are the 8" Mantua (dark brown) leather soft-toe mock boots. These boots were listed on Amazon for $129.99 and delivered to my door for $139.74. They came with an extra pair of woven fabric laces, and are a rich brown color. After unboxing and lacing them up I immediately put them on and must say that they felt very good, fitting well, "right out of the box". 2 thumbs up. I intend to break these boots in and will let you know my feelings on them. Oh "side note" I grew up in the Pacific Northwest and grew through many good quality 8" leather boots growing up. I am also a former member of the U.S. military serving in the Navy & Army, so I do know about proper footwear. I enjoy your website a lot and look forward to new additions.
