Here are times trades for NFL superstars that backfired BIG TIME.

Everyone knows that we are now living in the age of player empowerment… Guys have a say in their futures—and presents—in a way that previous generations never had.

That is why we see so many players nowadays that are quick to turn on their front offices when they don’t feel like they are being put in the best position to win ball games.

Or if they have been disrespected by a personnel decision—or a financial negotiation.

Players just won’t stand for it anymore.

But just because a guy can demand a trade—doesn’t mean that they necessarily should.

In fact, we have seen a number of players in recent years who have really dug their heels into the ground as they pushed their way out of town—only to have it go south on them in a big way.

So, without further ado… Let’s take a look back at 10 NFL players who demanded trades and had it BACKFIRE on them.

Well AB ended up winning a Super Bowl with bucs so I would say he is probably happy about how the trade went😂

I would say AB got dropped by Oakland, went to New England, built a friendship with Brady, got dropped, got picked up by TB, won his ring without Ben, and now got paid. Honorable Mention go Leveon Bell for making that same Super Bowl.

If i recall correcty, OBJ never "demanded" a trade, he never even requested one. Also hershel walker didnt request a trade either i dnt believe?

It really didn’t backfire on AB that badly. Yeah he missed out on a lot of money but he got a super bowl ring & kinda was the first one to call Gruden out 🤷🏾‍♂️

Dalton was actually drafted because Palmer refused to play for the Bengals. Not the other way around.

I still say if not for a cheap shot on his knee during the playoff game against the Steelers, Palmer had a good chance to become I truly great QB. People forget he threw a touchdown on the play he got hurt during. With him I think Cincinnati wins that game and who knows how far they go.

Leveon bell wanting to be the highest paid rb but won’t get it and wants trade. Gets traded and makes more than half he was offered by Steelers

The Hadl trade was definitely one of the biggest disasters we were ever involved in. It set us back at least a good part of the 17 year draught we suffered before Brett.

People forget that in 2008 Favre was playing with a torn bicep in his throwing arm for half of the year.

The Cowboys trading for Joey Galloway from the Seattle Seahawks was worse than the Roy Williams one. I believe we gave up two first round picks for him and one of those pics Seattle used to get Sean Alexander and I can't remember the other. Joey Galloway tore his ACL the very first game against the Philadelphia eagles and just never got back to his old form after that. That trade was a big big backfire that set the Cowboys back several years.

Atlanta trading Favre to Green Bay in 1992 was probably the single worst trade Atlanta ever made. Didn't take long for him to get GB to the Super Bowl and win, something Atlanta hasn't done in the 30 years since that trade.
