I'm a bit confused by the power supply. The Solenoid clearly says AC but the link on your documentation is a DC power supply. Is it still running on that, or did you indeed get an AC power supply?

Electrical tape is not waterproof. You should use self-amalgamating rubber (stretch) tape to properly waterproof and then cover that with electrical tape for UV protection.
