Abstract Algebra 82: Straight-edge and compass constructions
Abstract: We describe several straight-edge and compass constructions that are possible, such as finding a perpendicular bisector to a line segment, or bisecting an angle. How is this related to algebra? Other straight-edge and compass constructions are not possible, and algebra gives us the tools to prove those impossible constructions are impossible.
