SOLVED! 1996 Ford Ranger 2.3L High Idle (solution in description)

1996 Ford Ranger 2.3L idled high. I removed connection to IAC to confirm it's working. Steps I took:

1. Cleaned the IAC. No change.
2. Removed the MAF connector which negatively impacted idle. Conclusion: MAF is fine.
3. Looked around and found that the PCV had popped out of the grommet. Didn't see it initially because it was black, tucked away, and disgustingly grimy. This fixed the bulk of the problem.
4. Cleaned the throttle bottle with throttle body cleaner, replaced the PCV and grommet, new air filter, and adjusted the idle screw.

Smooooooth idle once again.

I had replaced the air intake control valve and the high idle continued. After having done this one small thing it was finally fixed.

my gasket with the replacement was the issue, blew smoke into brake booster hose and that shit immediately came out through the IAC gasket

My 97 has a vacuum leak and the dumb sensor, so it idles low and high to the point it shakes when it idles low give it gas it goes to normal revit again and it idles high, XD

Where did you get the pcv valve grommet...I can't find a part # anywhere. Any help would be awesome

Keep getting RPM surge at startup after new iac and egr installation. Cleared computer. Still high rpm surge just at startup.

Dear gentleman, please say where did you find the bibb, or cork (I dont know correct word - something that stop movind gas or fluid in a pipeline) in the front of your video - up the throttle body?

Muy raro este motor, si desconecto la válvula IAC funciona más o menos, pero si conecto la válvula IAC y desconecto el sensor TPS funciona mucho mejor y ahorra mucha GASOLINA, solamente la carburo manualmente.

Well since no one is gonna give an answer to any high idle problems, try the purge valve. 🙄

Tengo una Mazda b2500 y tengo un problema que en baja le da un fallo y e cambiado muchos sensores y cuando la pongo en Neutro porque ella es standar se acelera o cuando bajo cambio alguien que podría ser si me pueden ayudar
