The rubber gasket is called a weather pack or weather gasket. It keeps moisture/water/dust/dirt from getting in the electrical connection.

Check your throttle position sensor (tps). It controls the throttle body butterfly.

There is a hose coming off of the charcoal canister back by the gas tank. It has a sensor built into it. You didn't say if your ECM was going through diagnostic mode. If that sensor is bad it won't and it will idle high. You will have to change the hose to change the sensor.

Definitely good preventative maintenance. Yours wasn't too bad, you'll Definitely know if it's sticking though because rpms will race then come back down with throttle input. Like when driving and at stops. Thanks for the good how-to video 👍🏻

great video ! looking for some advice on my 2000 ford 2.5l. i have a lean code, checked for vacuum leaks with a smoke machine. there was smoke coming out of the idle air control valve's(IAC) top/breaher cap/vent (not sure want its called), and on the Exhaust gas recirculation (EGR valve) vents holes . wanted to know if that was normal?

Cleaned the valve but was in open position when I removed it. Valve stays in same position when power is applied. Idles same when plug is disconnected or connected '98 Ranger 3.0

I've seen in other videos that cleaning the iac doesn't yield much change. It was suggested that swapping this part was the only effective way to bring the idle back to normal be it too low or too high. My 98 ranger was idling so high that it threw a code for it. It does have 225000 miles on it and I don't know when the iac last was changed. Going to give this a shot and have a replacement iac on hand on case it doesn't work out. Thanks for the video brotha.

I don't mean to be a critic but you turned it upside down more than once.
