i do low bar only because it feels super uncomfortable for me to do high bar. i know one reason some people do low bar is because they have disproportionately long femurs, so it helps them get depth

I just can’t comfortably do low bar. No matter how much I try and do mobility work or find the shelf, it just doesn’t work for me. I just do high bar instead.

I do low bar because I can squeeze my squat plug more and it doesn't fall off.

Don’t necessarily agree since depth must be met regardless of bar position during a squat. Squat Bar position relies heavier on anatomical differences than personal preference in my experience. Most people do not have a true low bar or high bar squat. It’s usually something inbetwern. ROM is not reduced as much on a squat compared to a super high arch bench or a excessively wide sumo deadlift.

My main problem is that some of the french squats are questionable from a rule standpoint. It neither starts or finishes upright.

My traps are usually sore, back day is always the day before leg day. So I started putting the bar lower on my back. It's just where it's comfortable for me, not some kind of optimization.

I think the reason this won't get as much hate as sumo or death-arching is that you can't *really* see a big difference when you look at it.

Low bar incorporates more glutes and hams. That is why people do it. More muscle groups used means you can apply more force to the bar. While both obviously involve the quads, the high bar position emphasizes them more.

Hell naw this would destroy my shoulders. Sometimes the bar will roll off my back and just a fraction of this is uncomfortable asf

Well, I already hate low bar to "pArAlLeL" almost as much as mega arching and zero rom sumo, so we are balanced in that regard.
