One thing that always surprised me about Sidious; he found ways to fabricate multiple priceless, Indestructible lightsabers. I know some elements of the lore might not be canon, anymore, but I seem to recall that, at least at one point, Palpatine had a lightsaber housed in phrik; basically Indestructible, and this was practically dip-coated in electrum; a very precious metal. That one lightsaber seems a bit silly, considering how he never really planned to let most people see it, but then it turned out he had three? And possibly more? At least one survived to the Vader days, as he gave it to an unsatisfied Darth Vader to use, while working to replace his own, but I guess it's good to know he found uses for his family money, and that Plagueis left him, if you will, to fabricate such marvels.

Sidious was playing possum to mace windu so anakin could prove his worth to sidious. He foresaw this before mace and the 3 stooges showed up.

They were never there to destroy the people, the only one killed was the last remaining warrior, the strongest. The people of Kurseed viewed this ritual as a right of passage, and the Sith viewed them as fellow servants of the dark side as they were, with one advancing the other through this ritual. Plagueis even remarks that perhaps one day when both had advanced beyond the need for the ritual, they would come to honor them, rather than engage them in battle.

Mace Windu had him killed until Anakin showed up and screwed the pooch hard. That purple lightsaber is my favorite by far.

Despite how skilled Sidious was for his era both in saber combat and force feats, in Legends, he’s completely outclassed by both Ancient Jedi & Ancient Sith.

Tulak Hord, Exar Kun, Valkorian, Darth Bane, Hand Maiden, Grandmaster Luke with some of his descendants, even Count Dooku, etc.

Palpatine was very good, but I’m glad Mace Windu was able to beat him and would’ve killed Palpatine if not for Anakin stopping Mace.

this is a review and he did not mention falling rain or that the first ten years of Sidious 's training he was not allowed to even touch a lightsaber, he was only allowed to strengthen his force connection and learn new Dark Side Powers!

Plagueis, Palpatine, Maul: we were good because our master beat the crap out of us 😅

Plagueis trained him well. In his opinion, amongst the Jedi of the time prior to TPM, only Yoda and Dooku could defeat he or Sidious. By the Clone Wars the number included Mace Windu. Dueling is more than swordsmanship though, but Dooku is probably the best pure swordsman of the lot. Sidious and Yoda are however more powerful. While it is true Sidious probably wins a straight up duel between him and Dooku, on a good day Dooku can beat him.
