100% the fault of the parents. When children are small is when you teach them respect for their parents and authorities. Not when they're in high school. I know its not popular now but I was raised with three open-handed swats on the butt if I was seriously misbehaving or endangering myself. It wasn't "abuse", it was understanding that there are consequences and boundaries. I obeyed my parents because I respected them, loved them and wanted to please them. The foundation was laid early on.

I appreciate how my mother raised me, the old school method. Minimal spoils and would get my ass whupped when I deserved it. My mother was a sweetheart a hard working woman who had a very difficult life, if she needed to be she would be scary, but only when necessary. She’s passed on, and I miss her everyday. Xotchil reminds me of my ama, from what I see from the camera almost the same personality. I love watching these videos because I’m reminded of my ma, and Lucy reminds of one my tias I hardly get to see.
