How to Scan and Repair Your Computer for Corrupt Files [Tutorial]

The System File Checker (SFC) tool built into Windows will scan your Windows system files for corruption or any other changes. If a file has been modified, it will automatically replace that file with the correct version. If the SFC command doesn’t work, you can also try the Deployment Image Servicing and Management (DISM) command on Windows 10 or Windows 8 to repair the underlying Windows system image. On Windows 7 and earlier, Microsoft offers a downloadable “System Update Readiness Tool” instead. Let’s take a look at how to use them.

A system crash or bad sectors in the hard drive can lead to corrupted files, which is why it’s crucial to always back up your data. If one of your important files gets corrupted, then sadly it’s very difficult to fix it. You simply can’t recreate data that isn’t even there.

My PC always finds corrupted files, shortly after I have cleaned my drive. I have reset my PC quite a few times, and it still finds corrupted files. It hasn't crashed my PC just yet, but I am wondering why it keeps finding these corrupt files? Thanks

this is what mines says
Access Denied as you do not have sufficient privileges or
the disk may be locked by another process.
You have to invoke this utility running in elevated mode
and make sure the disk is unlocked.

Thanks for this. Every once in a while, when i put my laptop on sleep, it wakes up with a blue screen of death. Sometimes, i forget to turn it on for weeks and the last thing i did was put to sleep so maybe that's why. However, my other old laptop never had this problem and i never got a blue screen of death for doing the same thing to it. Maybe this expensive new laptop is more sensitive in its own way.

My disk is locked and it says my access is denied. It says you have to invoke this utility running in elevated mode and make sure the disk is unlocked. So how can I solve this issue?
