UK fighter jets intercept two Russian bombers north of Scotland

UK RAF fighter jets have scrambled to intercept two Russian bombers flying north of Scotland.

The Russian bombers were monitored in international airspace until they were no longer a threat.

This is nothing new. It happens on a daily basis now, and did during the Cold War. It stopped almost completely after the Soviet Union collapsed, then started again about 4/5 years ago. I live near the RAF bases from where those interceptions originate.
