This happens all the time. I live near a quite busy RAF Station in the UK, and the fighters there frequently get scrambled with QRA to deal with tupolevs flying close to our airspace. I guess we do it to them too

Russia showing off their bombers near Alaska is quite funny actually because they're not using them in Ukraine. Can tell a bluff when you see it
