When he said a jet was his first love before his wife, he was taking a highway to the danger zone

He’s what I imagine a fighter pilot to look like

"Over air conditioned, with mountain dew and pizzas". That felt incredibly specific.

Not only does Tom own a P-51 Mustang, the Mustang featured in the movie is actually HIS personal Mustang.

I love how humble he is while downplaying the skill involved in flying these aircraft. True gentleman. Making it look easy but never being smug about it.

who could NOT smile at the sight of the P-51? absolutely iconic fighter!

I like the guy. "I am not the sharpest tool in a shed." I like him much🙂. He even _looks_ to be a fighter pilot. Definitely a good choice for video like that.

“anybody can be a fighter pilot” except my dad who was one inch too tall to be accepted lmao

Last year, I happened to meet a former F-14 pilot who now flies Boeing 777s for a major U.S. airline. He was inspired to fly after the original Top Gun and he didn’t think he would be able to be an F-14 pilot. He really loved what he did! At some point, he was ready for a new job and decided to fly for one of the airlines flying passengers. He was super humble to the point where he paid for my hotel bus fee even though I told him he didn’t have to. He embodied the best of what the U.S. Navy has to offer!

I had no idea that if you walked up to an F-35, it would feel spongy. I always figured you would just be shot.

The SU-57 'Felon' Still has the best callsign of any aircraft

I'm not into fighter jets and such movies but honestly I could listen to this guy talk about them all day

That reaction to the F/A-18. That's how I feel seeing them. I used to live near an airfield where the Blue Angels showed every year. The sound and feeling when they took off always blew my mind, and just watching what that plane was capable of always just hit me.

What a legend. Humble, passionate, knowledgeable and with a great sense of humour. Very likeable guy.

I've always had a special place in my heart for the F-14 Tomcat, courtesy of the Top Gun films, but mostly because of its overall appearance. Especially the way the wings pull in as it speeds up, as if it were a bird of prey pulling in its wings as it goes into a dive, about to swoop down on its prey

I love how he's not biased and praised The Felon's capabilities.

Why WIRE, more of these down to earth breakdowns. I could listen this dude talk about jets for an hour without complaining.

F14 is one of my favourite jets, think it just looks fantastic with its wings swept back.

"When I was a kid, I had two big dreams of what I wanted growing up: To run my very own junkyard and to command a fighter squadron. Thanks to the Navy, I got to do both..."
