McDowell reminds me of the big brother I wish I had. Funny thing. I turn 60 in October and I am older than he is. See, even knuckle heads like me can begin to learn a bit of humility. I agree with what he said but I would add that Old Testament prophecy writes they would tear out his beard. John described Jesus as a lamb that was slain in Revelation, these would add to a change in his appearance .

Jesus Christ was on the cross 3 days and 3 nights prior to rising from the tomb and he still had the wounds of the scourging and the crucification on his body. Also they didn’t expect him to appear to them.

I think he was still disfigured from the scourging, beatings, and crucifixion.

The comments by believers seem to be nothing more than excuses for their deity acting strangely. This story is supposed to be about one of the most important events in human history—the way to eternal life—by the most important character in human history and his book shows him playing games with his followers. This is one of the many reasons I fell away from this incoherent “faith.” Recent studies show Christianity is dying. One need not wonder why.
