Whistlerverse team, the audio gets lower and lower and lower on this one. Lately a lot of the videos have very low audio across several channels, but this is by far the worst yet.

Anyone else have audio issues with this video? I have my phone turned the whole way up and it's not quite loud enough

Simon, can you please notify your Production Manager/Staff that the audio on a lot of these productions are irritatingly quiet and difficult to listen to?

As an Australian living now in Germany I can say that a Kitchener bun and what Australians call a Berliner are two different things and neither name is used in Germany. A Berliner (more often called a jam doughnut in Australia), is in Germany called krappfen and is what these days is sold as just doughnuts in America and the rest of the world (think crispy cream), they don't have holes in them but that's what every where else calls them now any way . A Kitchener bun is a doughnut cut in half and filled with real whipped cream (not the spray can crap), and strawberry jam. Also a Kitchener bun is almost exclusively south Australian, you can sometimes find them in other states but normally you would just find a jam doughnut (Berliner as they still call it)

I’m Australian, and I promise you that a Kitchener bun and a Berliner are two different things. A Kitchener bun is 3/4 split and then filled with mostly cream (real cream if you’re lucky) and a little bit of jam. The Berliner is closer to a cold jamball donut, with no cream.

I'm from Québec. No one use that new term for poutine. Sounds more like a publicity stunt than anything else

Yeah, we're not called Kiwis because of a fight about the fruit in the 50s. It's the flightless bird we're named for. We've been known as Kiwis for many years, long before the whole gooseberry issue.

You should a video on outdated or antiquated food dishes. Similar to what you started to talk about around 3:45

I thought Kiwi 🥝 fruit, and the nickname for New Zealand folks, came from the delightful little flightless bird. I had never heard about Chinese Gooseberrys.

I keep telling my German Shepherd she’s a walking stereotype for loving Sauerkraut, but she doesn’t seem to mind. 😂

I was in Armenia a few years ago, and I noticed that the “Oriental” coffee was suspiciously like Turkish coffee.

Okay, as a German I understand, that Sauerkraut is a common stable in German cuisine, mostly eaten as a sidedish alongside any form of roast, but I also know, that this stuff gets served even more often in Poland than in Germany.

Aah, yes, freedom fries. I remember that. I would have a salad with freedom dressing, some freedom bread and then freedom kiss my freedom girlfriend; (she really was from France.) It was a confusing time.

As a Belgian the 'freedom fries' thing was hilarious.

As all Belgians know; the french in french fries derives from the culinary term 'frenched': cut into long thin strips.

The Freedom Fries thing was, fortunately, short lived and largely considered mildly ridiculous in most areas that weren't rabidly conservative.

Don't forget about how people in Albany started calling Hamburgers "steamed hams"

Here in the US we enjoy doing things out of spite, it's an old American custom

Here in Sweden it is not called a "Danish", it is called "Wienerbröd" which means "Wienerbread".

I remember the "Freedom Fries" thing. I thought it was a joke... I didn't realize somebody actually changed the name.
