"Personally, I'm not an energy drinker myself. I run on anxiety."

I feel that, dude.

The zombie skittles sounds like the same kinda thing as jelly belly’s bean boozled, which was also intentionally bad flavours hidden alongside normal flavours.

The Zombie Skittles remind me of the Bean Boozled jellybeans, all the beans look like normal flavors and while some tasted like normal flavors, other beans had intentionally bad tasting flavors. Some boxes even had a spinner where you choose the bean the arrow lands on, eat it and hope it isn't bad

I’m embarrassed to admit that I loved the taste of the candy cigarettes as a kid and as an adult.. I still buy them at the corner store to this day and I’m in my 20’s 😂

Can we just appreciate that someone actually decided to name their soon to be unpopular product "Fads"?

Being a Mexican myself I've never seen the chicos candy, and it translates literally into "guys", so the term itself hasn't any derogatory meaning IMO, the fact that they're chocolate and its color alludes to Hispanic people on the other hand might be the reason they got rebranded. A similar case happened here in Mexico where a chocolate covered pastry was called "Negrito"... things didn't go quite well and got rebranded into "Nito" which means nothing in particular.

I LOVED Pepsi Blue! When it got discontinued I was equally sad and happy, my mom had several packs given to her from a local supermarket.

I can definitely relate to the sugar-free gummy bears one. I had a bag when I was visiting my older brother in Maine. The second day was spent on the hotel toilet with Pepto-Bismol

I love the shift into junk food videos! This is a niche I feel isn't really touched on much in the commentary community, and you definitely do your research. I like how wholesome this channel has always been. The world is so full of sadness and atrocity, it's great to have so many of these positive channels to kick back and relax to. And your community is just as nice as the content!

One day on the school bus on the way home, one of the high schoolers had one of those candy cigarettes. They were the type that would even “smoke” if you blew the candy dust off of them. Well the bus driver saw the teen “smoking” & thought it was the real thing. The bus driver yelled & pulled the bus over. The teen ate the “evidence” & the bus driver refused to continue to drive home until someone fessed up & gave over the cigarette. There was nothing to give!! We sat there for hours until the school demanded we drive back to the school. Meanwhile, none of the parents (like mine) knew why the school bus was hours late & this was before cell phones. So all the kids on our route just “vanished!” In the end no one got in trouble - teen or driver - & I missed the Disney Afternoon that day because it was before we owned a VCR…

Calling cigarettes "deathsticks" just reminds me of that one scene in Star Wars: Episode II: Attack of the Clones.
Remember, when someone tries to get you to smoke, tell them to go home and rethink their live, just like Obi-Wan said.

About Zombie Skittles, last year I went trick-or-treating with my friends. At one of the houses, the only thing there was a GIANT BAG OF ZOMBIE SKITTLE PACKETS.

As a latino I don't think the name "chicos" is offensive, i even find it adorable because the candies resemble baby-shaped people and chicos means "boys" anyway (sorry if my english is weird :(( )

I remember eating candy cigarettes as a kid. Actually
liked the flavor.
They were basically
solidified marshmallows.

the strangest thing is I actually saw the "cocaine" drink at five below the other day, so it is still mildly available at stores.

edit: I also remember seeing a four loko can on the floor, and again I was questioning their legality

I used to mix a 20oz bottle of Pepsi blue and a 20oz bottle of code red every lunch break back in 2002ish when I worked at Kmart. This mixture turned into a fantastic kinda translucent purple drink that I’m sure has caused health issues. Tasted great though.

If you’ve ever been to a Halloween party where they have those “feel the gross object” thing going on, that’s probably what makes Zombie Skittles so popular during the holiday: it fits the more “Do you dare” aspect without doing something rather questionable. The fact that it’s just a gross flavor that makes it infamous probably helps too, as it’s pretty much harmless in contrast to everything else on this list.

Oh the candy cigarettes, I've only had them like once and they were given to me by my grandparents. I remember vividly the thing I thought was cool about them was that it was literally cigarettes but for me, and candy. A lot of my close family smoked and I was convinced I would do that when I was older. Now that I'm actually older, I get to see the consequences of smoking not just on my family but by the public as well.

I remember when I was a kid, I used to buy those candy cigarettes from the icecream truck.. the ones they used to sell there, had extra powder wrapped in them that you could blow out so it looks like smoke! 🚬 I'm surprised nobody is mentioning that aspect of them. Thankfully, I never became a smoker but I understand how crazy it is that they were ever sold to kids!

I *loved* Pepsi Blue when it came out and if I think long and hard about it, they might have definitely put something in it because it bordered on addiction. The aftertaste, as I remember, was more cotton candy than blueberry to me. And then they pulled it from shelves when the EU banned Blue 1 as an ingredient. I still miss it to this day.
