Good video. I'm a podiatrist and studies have shown that deroofing blisters cause 1)More pain, 2)Takes longer to heal, 3)increases chances of infection 4)causes a bigger scar and weaker tissue upon healing. In fact it's quite unprofessional for a clinician to deroof a blister on the lower limb.

Thanks. This is interesting. Most of the time we are just told not to pop blisters, but then there are cases of doctors popping the blisters and that makes a lot of people confused, myself included. Thanks for this information!

Do not do this, mine has become extremely sore afterwards the blister is there to prevent infection

Why would you de-roof a child's blister on the hand? It seems like that’s just asking for an infection.

Considering your not ment to pop unless either has popped on its own or it is recommended by doctor which highly doubt they would as burn underneath needs to heal and this could cause and infection making your worst off

There is a lot of conflicting science and advise on this. Some say never pop a blister and some say pop it right away. Hard to know who’s right

I had a burn that healed and blistered within 2 days of a burn, 1 month later I received another blister. This one is bright red and I just noticed it, I don’t know how it happened, the burn has healed and is blistered again?

It annoying, yet when I pop it and drain it, it heals quicker. If I leave it, it starts to get bigger. I Always have tissue and something to clean and heal after, pawpaw ointment

i have a question, what does a healthy skin of the blister, (the healed skin?) look like?

because mine is like a whitish one, i think its only that because its not experienced air and light that much.
its been like 2 or 1 week but i do kendo and my blisters heal faster because my body somehow got used to it.
i dont feel any discomfort, its just the roof kinda is annoying

As a medical Doctor, this is the absolute WORST advice ever given 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️. First, running burns under cold water traps the heat it, it’s not actually ‘cooling’ the burn, and while it does help reduce scarring and swelling, but needs to be held under cool water for 20min. Second, you should NEVER deroof a blister unless it is one that is about to burst already, one that is restricting movement or causing friction against the blister, if that isn’t the case, LEAVE THE BLISTER ALONE. Our bodies produce them for a REASON! What reason you ask? The dead skin protects, like a shield, the newly forming skin underneath while the fluid prevents the two layers of skin from causing friction against eachother. Studies have shown there is no significant benefit in deroofing and actually shows there is an increased chance of scarring, increased pain, longer healing time, and a 40% chance of possible infections vs 12% when not deroofed. And the fact that you said the patient would need FENTANYL?!?!? Are you off your rocker?!? NO medical professional would EVER make such a ridiculous statement! Fentanyl is given to TERMINALLY ILL PATIENTS! Cancer patients, and patients who literally cannot stand the pain they’re in, and even then, it’s in time released patches. You, ma’am, are doing SERIOUS damage to our healthcare system. No wonder people don’t trust their doctors, because “they saw a YouTube video, where this person said this and….” And that person, are people like YOU
