Verify Linux Mint ISO file on Linux System

preview_player
Показать описание
The video describes the process of verifying the Integrity and Authenticity of Linux Mint ISO file downloaded on a Linux System. The video is captured on a Linux Mint machine, however, the process will work on other Linux flavours as well.
The integrity check confirms that your ISO image was properly downloaded and that your local file is an exact copy of the file present on the download servers. An error during the download could result in a corrupted file and trigger random issues during the installation.
The authenticity check confirms that the ISO image you downloaded was signed by Linux Mint, and thus that it isn’t a modified or malicious copy made by somebody else.

I'm upgrading from 18.1 "Serena" to 20.2 "Uma" right now, and this video was super helpful! I couldn't quite figure it out just from the instructions listed on the Linux Mint website. Thanks so much for uploading this video tutorial.

Thank you so much for this video. It helped me verify the OS. I have switch to Linux and have not regretted the decision. However, I was getting confused about the command as I am new to this migration. I was just about to give up and then took a chance with your video. I am glad it was successful. Thank you again for having a direct and user friendly video.

A most excellent video! The instructions were "spot on." Thanks to this step by step video I was able to successfully download and create and verify a downloaded ISO Linux file.

Great info, very clear and without fuzzy moments. Sadly, it proves once more Linux is not for an average Joe, as one guy pointed out below, it is certainly not KISS. A bit tedious and lengthy, requires quite a lot from an user just to verify a download. Furthermore it happens often the terminal tells you "no such command", "file not found" or more of exotic statements. it takes hours to solve one puzzle. And there might be more puzzles. My Zorin distro tells me everything is updated after I have received a notification about a pending update, warpinator cannot be updated, suspending pc after a session gets me lost audio. And to solve problems like this time is a big factor- I simply cannot afford it

I saved my iso file in my documents folder. I used the command: cd: documents: No such file or directory. Terminal sucks.
