What are you working on with your coach?

Thanks Andy for this video that explains clearly that the club should always been in front of you, specially during the downswing trying to match the control point 1 on the takeway.
It was the point I was missing on this new approach

That one about trying to turn the hands in an opposite direction and keeping the club still is an absolute light bulb moment for me, Andy. I never gave the dominant hand issue much thought. It helps me to hold the club evenly. The club head angle at take away is interesting as well. thank you.

Thank you for the interpretation of Cowen's instructions that I understand.

Pete’s opposing forces is best explained by him when he takes a rolled up towel holds it like a golf club and squeezes water out of it…..left hand turns right on the club, and right hand turns left both at the same time…it stabilizes the club face as this guy demonstrates….Henrick Stinson does it every time he grips the club. Terrific golf tip

Nice, Carter! Years ago, I was told the toe of the club should be pointing straight up at 1st parallel. If I hadn't changed, I'd still be fighting the rights, except for the random pull left, lol. Thx for the reminder of how the clubface should be angled!

It’s all about the release point once you have a semblance of a decent swing, for a start and of course it varies, release at 8 on the clock face,

The opposing forces with the hands is one of the greatest tips I’ve heard. For me it keeps the club face really square and stable and helps with off centre strikes in particular for this reason. It goes against the grain of super light grip pressure which I was focusing on for ages. It’s great on centre strikes but doesn’t cope with poorer ones. This has helped me massively hit straighter lower more consistent shots. Andy did you notice you loose some ability to shot shape??? I’ll take super straight though 💪😂

Thanks for explaining Pete Cowen's opposing forces concept a bit and how it works. Do you feel like you are applying pressure with your finger differently, or pressing down on the grip in some way now compared to what you did with the faulty swing/grip?

Been trying this for awhile, not making any progress, as my previous swing is still more accurate with similar carry distance.

After the takeaway with neutral leading edge parallel to spine angle, how do you keep the club on plane to the top in regards to shoulders, forearms and hands?

Great video Andy. Can you clarify if you keep the right hand on top (same position) with both iron and driver with adjustment in the set up to ensure you hit up or down on the ball?

Thanks Andy! Something to try out at the range this week!

Recommend early wrist set as opposed to more gradual?

I do something slightly different with the same result. My only swing thought other than the target and setting up to it, is a subtle right hand release in every swing. This naturally puts me into the position you describe and in the right sequence. To each his own I guess. If it ever starts to break down I know what to do. lol

Nice video I’m working on not bringing my right knee forward and close to the left in the down swing and instead, shifting the left hip toward target ever so slightly to initiate down swing and give me space for my hips to turn and club to come through. I’ve been playing 6 months, so trying to get the fundamentals - right hand golfer
