APR MK7 GTI ECU Upgrade - Motorsport Testing

The APR Stage I ECU Upgrade is designed to work without requiring other changes to the vehicle's hardware. With the ECU Upgrade alone, APR's Calibration Experts measured higher peak figures of 381 ft-lbs of torque and 316 horsepower with 93 AKI octane fuel. Large gains were seen throughout the power band, including an additional 114 ft-lbs of torque and 87 horsepower. Even higher figures were acheived using 100 AKI octane race fuel. The increase in power directly translates to an exceptionally quicker vehicle. Using advanced GPS measuring devices and the local IHRA certified drag strip, APR's engineers conducted several acceleration tests. During the quarter mile sprint, the APR Stage I equipped vehicle crossed the finish line 1.06 seconds quicker, with an exit speed 13.3 MPH faster!

APR's ECU upgrade is the best power per dollar modification for the new 2.0 TSI engine and takes the vehicle's performance to similar levels typically reserved for higher output, sporty models, without pushing the limits. With factory-like smoothness and drivability, APR's ECU upgrade will fill the void in an otherwise excellent vehicle.

Bought a "salvaged" 2015 Mk 7 w 2000 miles for $20, 000.  Car flooded and was totaled.  Did a thorough inspection and found that no water penetrated the trunk, only the floor mats got wet.
I also have a Cobb tuned Forester XT, nice and fast, 0-60 in about 5.8 - 6.0 sec.  Also have a 335i with a Vishnu flash.  Very fast, 0-60 in about 4.5 to 4.6 sec.
After a while I thought to myself man this VW is fast, wonder what an APR flash would do for it.  Made an appointment and was quoted around $850 with before and after Dyno runs.
While waiting, I heard the car as they revved it on the dyno.  Guy came back and said that the car had already been flashed!  Total cost to me $100 for the dyno run.  Here are the numbers:  Max HP = 280.67 and Max TRQ = 352.01
Insane numbers and the car flies!  I would love to see what the 0-60 times are.  Has anybody done a 0-60 and 1/4 mile tests on one yet?

hey guys can you help me out. I have a 2016 GTI Performance Package with that diff yo and I have been thinking of tuning it to APR stage 1 and was curious about whether you still have to pull out the ECU? are there any labor costs added to get a 2016 GTI tuned? I had tuned a MK6 GTI before and they had to remove the ECU

Thanks

I have a 2016 mk7 with performance package, lighting, autobahn etc and my question is... one the APR ECU flashing has been performed do i still have the ability to switch between Normal, Performance and Individual settings? or is that all scrubbed and replaced with the APR settings no matter what?

Could you provide some kind of official technical explanation as to how you possibly achieve + 87hp / 114 ft-lbs? That's shocking and unheard of for even a turbo car. Look at a competitor like the new 2.0T WRX they get no where near that with a tune. Is it that this engine is so grossly under powered stock? Also how could the drive train (clutch, transmission, diff, etc) possibly survive longterm pushing those kind of torque numbers, makes me think there should be a toned down version.  That said, I would LOVE to drive one of these with the performance package option with a limited-slip differential. How about posting a quarter mile or track video next? :)

Count me in the skeptical camp thats a ton of HP/TQ gained and while I can accept that the motor may be underrated HP wise. Thats still a ton of HP gained, from what I am seeing of the 1st tracked customer cars they are all in the 13.8-14.2 range trapping 106-107mph on stock tires thus far. I would like to see some video from APR of a stock GTI DSG or 6spd on street tires at the drag strip with before and after numbers. Just the tune... No tap, no air box, no exhaust and on 91 or 93 octane. Being 1st to market and is great but even the dealers who sell the product seem very wary as well. Many seem to be waiting for Revo, HPA/HGP and GIAC to name a few. Show us some real data and video of an actual customer APR!
