APR MK7 GTI ECU Upgrade - Acceleration Testing

The APR Stage I ECU Upgrade is designed to work without requiring other changes to the vehicle's hardware. With the ECU Upgrade alone, APR's Calibration Experts measured higher peak figures of 381 ft-lbs of torque and 316 horsepower with 93 AKI octane fuel. Large gains were seen throughout the power band, including an additional 114 ft-lbs of torque and 87 horsepower. Even higher figures were acheived using 100 AKI octane race fuel. The increase in power directly translates to an exceptionally quicker vehicle. Using advanced GPS measuring devices and the local IHRA certified drag strip, APR's engineers conducted several acceleration tests. During the quarter mile sprint, the APR Stage I equipped vehicle crossed the finish line 1.093 seconds quicker, with an exit speed 13.3 MPH faster!

APR's ECU upgrade is the best power per dollar modification for the new 2.0 TSI engine and takes the vehicle's performance to similar levels typically reserved for higher output, sporty models, without pushing the limits. With factory-like smoothness and drivability, APR's ECU upgrade will fill the void in an otherwise excellent vehicle.

That's unreal!! APR, y'all have really outdone yourselves! I timed the 0-60 around 5 seconds flat, 0-100 around 11.1 seconds, and a predicted 1/4 mile time of 13.2 at 112 mph! How close is this to y'alls times?!

Bought a MK7 GTI a few days ago and got the APR tune - it's unreal how effortless the car feels now compared to my old MKIV GLI 1.8T with a K04 in it

Great video, but what's with the 30 seconds of darkness at the end?

Any Update on flash for late 2016 production GTI?

BIG GAINS !! I am tuning my MK7 soon!!!

Shifting seems weird with the tuned one, like it could've been even faster. They bang it on the redline for a bit in 1st gear.

Damn. I thought this thing was fast already. But if I can get that much more from just a flash, I gotta do it. Think I'll go for a set of ALP laser jammers first though.

Hey! Nice! Whats the difference beetween Golf 7 R and GTI Performance engine? Is it the same? How much horsepower are the gti turbo rated to and how much turbobar with chip? Thanks :)

does this increase the top speed as well?

APR stage 1 2016 Audi A3 Quattro 2.0t here, around 1 year 10k miles later cylinder 4 had low compression requiring an engine cylinder head replacement. Cylinder head was replaced and don’t know if it’s my shady ass mechanic or apr’s fault but the transmission took a shit as well, said it was the mechatronics acting up and fueling issues are apparent but then again don’t know if my mechanic is just being shady… APR tunes being too aggressive and overall bad for longevity causes the cylinder head issue tho. TCU tune to match the ECU as well, did everything as it should’ve been when I got the car transmission service, oil changes every 3k miles, once tuned I went one NGK heat range lower… Just a warning for those curious… I’d stay away, go with United Motorsports, 5150, EQT, or sneekytune. Better performing and more reliable is the word for all those tuners… APR products are overpriced, check out CTS Turbo for hardware.

With 99 octane fuel, what can you expect?

No wheelspin? I timed it and the stock acceleration was 6.4 and with apr was 4.5 seconds... something is not very clear... with my mk7 gti I'm doing 7 seconds in 0-60 with your stage 1.

I'm getting my mk7 next week, 6spd manual though not dsg, wonder how these tunes effect your warranty though :/

Does the warranty of the car go away once you tune it?

hardly the only change you'll need. What's been done to the DSG? Shifts could be a lot faster, shift RPM's could be changed for better acceleration. Ever noticed the different shift RPM's per gear?

I timed it at about 5.2 seconds. That's fucking insane.

Curious...I have physically seen 1.5L Civics doing this time with far less HP & TQ on a CVT platform. -1sec from stock is approx 13.3 1/4mile. Difference of the two vehicles is +100lbs curb weight, same boost pressure, but different CR from 10.6 to VW's 9.6, with VW having +30CI.
Now is the major difference being that the CVT can hold MAX power longer and keep it there without having to shift and fall back to Max Torque to rise in HP again or is there something amiss?
Then again, this is a 2014 GTI and nothing current. If you want to keep CUSTOMER INTEREST you need to stay up to date with more current models. If you don't, an interested person would not know what they are getting from your tune and go elsewhere where they have more current data/information. I say that since it is $700 for the ECU tune and an addt'l $700 for the DSG Flash / and for a total of $1400, all a customer has is a "Flash" without the ability to monitor anything. This is right in line with what DINAN does and honestly, there is a reason as to the NOT providing hardware to customers - because the more knowledgable one's would know they got fooled. No thanks. Pro-Tune all the way, not a CAN tune that everyone gets.

For an ECU tune, that's a lot of power. How much does Stage 1 cost?

and stills cuts off at 130mph, not really what I expected
