The fog in Morrowind really brought the game together, not only did it make the map seem way bigger than it was, it also enabled distance rendering to be very simple therefore enabling better graphics and performance. Oh, it also looks atmospheric and fits into the theme of the game, given that you're on a volcano. What a perfect idea.

To be fair, while the original is obviously dated, the art direction really still makes it quite a looker.

You finally arrived, but our records don't show from where.

I know that the fog was purposely placed because of the limitations at the time and to mask draw distance, but in the original Morrowind it gave it a sort of surreal quality and increased immersion, as it complimented it's swamps and lowland areas.

So apparently there are about 700 years between TESO and TES III. Kinda weird that Seyda Neen stayed the same.

Morrowind was famous for its water effects and those are turned off? ...

Impressed how many landscapes they captured, not happy that they ignored the atmosphere and color pallet.

The sky on the original is better, but great improvement overall

Still wish we would have gotten a HD remake of Morrowind for the 15th anniversary.

ESO is looking really nice for an MMO. Although it feels very claustrophobic. I mean theoretically it is a huge open world, but in reality it is built in a way that there are no views or big landscapes and you just don't feel the size of this world, everything is designed in a way that you just cannot see far away.

in the original the land looks kind of dead while in eso there is a lot more greenery and life

Seyda-Nin is Imperial town, which was build during Uriel Septim VII expansion in Morrowind (4xx year of Third Age!) How possible to see it several hundreds years before?!

Morrowind is still the greatest RPG ever. It almost felt like a science fiction, a completely alien planet. FPS gaming was at its peak in the late 90s/early 2000.

The original had something special, some kind of mystique
