What Do All the Formula 1 Flags Mean?

Some of them you see all the time. Some of them, hardly ever. Here's our guide to F1's flags.

*Chequered flag:* When Hamilton or Verstappen crosses the line.
*Yellow flag:* When Mazepin or Tsunoda spins.
*Double waved yellow flag:* When Mazepin or Tsunoda crashes.
*Yellow flag with SC sign:* When Mazepin or Tsunoda crashes with somebody.
*Red flag:* When Mazepin or Tsunoda causes a massive pile-up by a crash.
*Green flag:* When Mazepin's or Tsunoda's car is retired.
*Blue flag:* When a Mercedes or a Red Bull is getting closer to you.
*Black and white flag:* When Mazepin does a bit of his typical "Mazepin stuff" while defending.
*Black flag:* When Mazepin has being doing Mazepin stuff for so long.
*Black and orange flag:* When Russell has an issue which makes him lose the Top 10.
*Red and yellow stripped flag:* When Russell leaks oil or water on the track after an engine failure or hydraulic issue which makes him lose the Top 10.
*White flag:* When a slow car (apart from both Haas and Latifi) is on track.
