Back in the day, pit-stops used to have refueling mid-race, now, you have one big fuel tank, and you must manage the whole fuel for the entire distance.

To answer your question, NO and as you just said, they did that for safety reasons and we all have seen so many accidents while having to refuel on each pit.

i have a question. if all cars are managed by one pit crew, who determines which driver to attend to if more than one driver requires tyre changes.

If they can change tires in under 2 seconds, why not design tanks to do the same? Re-fueling should be brought back by swapping tanks like tires. Much safer. Quick couple connections, pre determined amounts of fuel for maximum strategy and handling (Williams/Nigel Mansel) Could use a jib crane or jacks to remove and install tanks. First team to do it wins in the pits.
