Whatever the future holds for Animal Crossing I pray that the next one to come out brings back character's like Copper and Booker and their police station. I miss Copper and Booker.

Of all the animal crossing games they would add i think City Folk is the best bet. Remember they added Skyward Sword to the switch, and that required the motion control plus. It is 100% playable with a controller and in handheld mode. So they can easily change the controls of these games, especially because they have the original code.

i doubt that switch online will ever have ports for 2DS/3DS or wiiU, just because they're too recent to really be considered 'retro' (atleast for the forseeable future). Perhaps gamecube might come to switch online someday though..

they need to make a version of pocket camp on the switch. i want to actually play a animal crossing game that has the style i see on gameplay of older games in the series, and play it *not* on phone

If they did add DS games such as Wild World to Switch, they can just make it so you can use the joysticks to replace the use of a stylus. Like when the villagers have interactive conversations with you, you could use the D-Pad to move up and down when answering! Those are MY thoughts however...

Im so sick of Nintendo putting their corporate thumb on their consumer..this is why i love emulation.

If Nintendo were to think about putting older AC games on the switch I feel like it would be more likely for them to put The GameCube game and city folk on the console. I think GameCube would be the most likely and then in the case of Wild world it would be combined with city folk due to how similar they are.

I personally don’t think these ports are very likely at all though.

Also bob’s (splats?) gang

I picked up City Folk last year for my Wii along with the best Zelfa game Twilight Princess, the only problem is I can't find my Wii! I definitely didn't sell it, maybe it's in the dreaded spider attic 😱😭 Bob's gang.💜

Oooo crafty of u, i already commented before u said splats gang 😂

they'd have to do a handheld only for ds, 3ds if they did a 3 pack like with mario aniversary. GC would the be the only one you could play docked. DS esp you'd have no other option but use the handheld mode cause that one over 3ds uses touch screen for nearly everything. Seeing how gc and ds/3ds arent on the switch online, we might have to wait for the successor of the switch or an aniversary title. Splat gang.

My thought on the matter is to display the games like the video does and make the DS games handheld mode only.

Nintendo pretends animal crossing isn't a seller. Like they couldn't report and resell them on the switch. And not to be like the Sims but if they released more dlc content people would eat it up.

Not gonna lie, I’d rather a remake or a Switch cartridge version of a port than an NSO port because I’m not a fan of the Expansion Pass and only pay for the standard online, and if it ever did come to that I wouldn’t buy it because I still have a functioning GCN, DS, Wii and I still have my New Leaf town, and I keep forgetting to renew my yearly membership, so I wouldn’t be happy if they deleted my town because I forgot to plan ahead. That’s too much unnecessary stress I don’t need to deal with when I can just fire up my GCN, DS, Wii, Wii U or 3DS and play those games that way.

i like (hate) how Nintendo is perfectly fine letting older AC games become legally unplayable but also wont update them to run them on Switch with Nintendo Online. THEN they take it further and fight to get emulators for old games for older consoles taken down. i hate to say this but NINTENDO. STOP DOING WHAT YOU'RE DOING. 🤑🤑🤑

I mean, in city folk you were able to play without pointing at the screen, if I remember correctly

With the wii controller, it would be possible if they made it docked only where you dock the switch and use the joy cons XD

You would do the same thing you do with galaxy you use your joy cons disconnected from your unit put your unit in dark mode not a problem split screen you could also make it where you have to do it in dark mode have your TV is your top screen have your TV is your bottom screen? It would be a little different, but if they wanted to do it, they could do it.
