This is how it begins. Next thing you know you’ve owned 3 dozen bars and spend most of your time in a basement.

Was searching amazon barbells, this looks like a good choice for me. Why spend big if you dont lift big... yet.

I think it really does make a difference if you are doing Olympic weightlifting where the rotation of the bar is crucial. I've used that rogue Ohio power bar and it spins so smoothly. Cheap bars that don't spin well can kill cleans and snatches and even make you compromise your technique a little. If you're not doing those explosive lifts though...it not a huge deal!

I’ve trained on crappy bars with very little knurl and still made gains of course but the Ohio Power Bar is like no other. I own a power bar from Vulcan, Texas PB and the Rogue OPB and the Rogue is by far the best one.

right there with you man. i personally got the rep fitness barbell and it did more then enough for me and the price could not be beat.

I say the bar bell doesn't matter until you hit 315+ on all 3 of your major lifts.
Then at that point you want a power bar, dead lift bar and squat bar.
Trust when I say a 600+LB dead lift on a power bar hurts ALOT MORE than a 700lb deadlift on a dead lift bar.

I really want the stainless steel version of the OPB 😅.. I don’t want to have to worry about forgetting to oil the bar and having rust pits starting to form on my nice barbell. I feel like with the stainless version I’ll have a great bar for my lifts and also a bar that will stay gorgeous for ever

I've been working with a very used, very bent 1inch bar. Anything is better than what I have right now lol
The one I just bought was just under 200, I can't wait to get it and put my new weight plates on it.

Great review. I'm of the mindset of buy what you can afford and use the shit out of it. It doesn't matter what you got, cheaper or not-cheap-at-all, it's all about getting in there and repping it out. Every. Single. Day. Rock on! 🤟🤟🤟

I've used expensive bars at the gym, and absolutely there is a difference the moment you grip that bar. But where I would maybe disagree a little is that in the comparison with the car, those differences are going to be felt more. You'll be driving a long time and the suspension difference, etc, will be felt. With the bar, you feel the difference when you grab it, but once the set starts I'm just thinking of getting that heavy ass weight up, and I forget about the bells and whistles.

But I do think it's worth spending a little more than the cheapest even if you are on a budget. Min 700lb capacity and a decent knurling. Something that's not gonna bend or slip out of your hands.

BTW man, GREAT video! Sorry about the negative comments. I thought it was rather refreshing to hear the POV of someone who doesn't have 20 $1000 barbells to pick from.

This why I lucked out getting a rogue boneyard. Right in the middle I can throw it around a bit and but still have the rogue quality and knurling. Still want a kabuki though.

My favorite part of this video is actually the barbell attachment that allows you to do bent over rows at 2:36-2:44! Where have I been because I've never seen that before, LOL?!
