Hello John watch all of your videos. Trying to work on carrier aggregation, on my Mofi. You mentioned it in this video a couple of times. Can you do a video on carrier aggregation? Would be a huge help

John - thank you so much for all the work you’re doing! The way I understand it, if the Netgear does the WiFi, it can do 2.4GHz and 5GHz. Yes, the MoFi doesn’t, but in your setup the MoFi basically acts as the WAN for the Netgear. You will have two separate Ethernet networks, but only the Netgear determines which WiFi’s you have

Hey John, I just happened to find your videos while trying to get educated on internet reception in rural areas. Very helpful advice. Probably moving to a more rural area in east TN, which has no cable internet access. Sucks! But trying to figure out options and courses of action to take when we get farther out in BFE! Appreciate the videos and your time invested. Sub'd.

Hey brother! I can't for the life of me get my TP Link router to tether to the MOFI. Nothing I do has seemed to work. I tried your suggestion first by not plugging it into WAN but it did diddly squat and so I had to tether via WAN. Any suggestions before I pull my hair out?

I live in a rural area. 3 miles from a at&t tower. I bought a weboost home complete booster and it worked great not my whole home but it worked great. Then it stopped working. Been looking at the mofi4500 and trying to figure out the best way to go about it. Some people just have the mofi4500 and that's it. Others have 1, 2, 3, even 4 yogi antennas. Some th ingredients like urs. just need something that will run my home with no problems. Also when I had my booster it was pointed in the opposite side of which the tower was pointed.

I think I had a antenna dud out on me today after a night of rain. Weboost is sending me a new one free, but damn now im only pushing 20's till I get the other antenna going again...My question is what do you use to isolate your cables connectors outside on your antennas? I did a crappy job wrapping one of mine and rain was built up in the connector this morning. *sigh*

Thanks for the explanation about the frigging white screen when log into mofi.lol I almost factory reset with actual button behind the mofi, now my mofi locks into band on its own and when I run band search it pops the message "bad address " in red. After 2 or 4 minutes internet comes back. Support for mofi couldn't help me and they take too long to answer questions. Trying to change the Nat type in mofi not luck so far. Smh. Thanks for your videos.

Also, I noticed when I went to system tab and then internal module flasher, there was an update available. I had never noticed it before and I assumed only the router firmware ever needed to be updated (located in the system menu as "remote update") After flashing the updated module firmware I noticed an increase in speeds even with one of my antennas being a dud right now! (About 20 dBm less than the other one) So I am wondering if the Sierra module inside plays a bigger role in speeds then I thought before!

Hey John! What are you using for your carrier? I’m on visible wireless but looks like you’re using a Verizon sim? Are you on normal post paid, prepaid, or tablet plan?

No need to change settings in the mofi? Just plug in the new router and setup the new router?

Connecting a router to the mofi4500 router. Improves the wifi range. ? I'm also curious what carrier do you use ? For us we use visible and I'm hearing visible has caught on to what's happening

Is that Wilson amp for cell phone boosting or is it on your primary antenna for the Internet signal?

To John or anyone out there who has done this. How did get your Cell company to give you a sim with service for your Mofi? My guess is if I tell Verizon I need a new line but don't give them a phone they're going to question it?

You have only the booster conecte to the mofi or you have outside antenas?

I wanted 5ghz with my mofi so i just tethered it into a netgear router and use the netgear wifi and it boosted my speeds so they are not the same imo. I also attached an external antenna to the mofi to improve the incoming signal. The netgear doesn't care what feeds it, so it doesn't matter if its a mofi or hardline fiber. I'm under the impression the netgear sends out the 5ghz....but I'd love to understand why if I am wrong.
