oh man, you described it perfectly. I had a crush on this boy in 8th and 9th grade, we shared the same music taste, he would let me braid his hair and then get really shy about it, he would compliment me about my hobbies, etc. I was bummed when he got a girlfriend in 9th grade. They lasted about a month and we did not interact for a few months after that. But on a random April day, we talked a bit. I can remember it very clearly, I playfully tried on his glasses and posed, asking him if they fit me. I was convinced he only saw me as a friend but he gave me the warmest smile ever and said they do fit me nicely. I blushed and gave them back. The same day he was using his phone as a speaker and gave it to me so I can play the songs I liked. When another guy came and tried to change the music he was so annoyed :) He changed schools that year, and we never spoke again. He was one of my real crushes, who made me blush and giggle and gave me so many butterflies. I don't know if I have feelings for him anymore, but I am happy with myself, so the calm ending of the song really reflected that. I hope he's happy too :)
