Space Cult: Challenging Yourself With A STARGRAVE Speed Paint

My first attempt at a speed paint, making a Stargrave Cult Crew as fast as I can...which turns out to not be that fast at all.

I don't think they look rough at all! From a lot of other paints videos, I understood speed painting not to be so much about how fast you can lay paint down, but focusing on keeping it simple; rather than spending an hour per model to carefully blend three to five shades into their cloak to achieve a really great lighting effect, you lay a dark color and a highlight, and let the wash handle the gradient for you.

Anyway, I think its great work, and they're some really fantastic looking models. Look forward to seeing more from you!

For a timed speed paint, the look great. Now as far as speed painting goes for me it's about getting a unit done in a week or two based on availability of time and it not taking me a month to get done because of real life problems. Love what you did with them, and don't give up on speed painting.🙏😇🇺🇸

Honestly, I am lucky if I can block in 2 colors in an hour on my miniatures. You still came out way better than my models.

Cool color scheme. Reminds me of Dr.Doom. I’d say the only big error is the brown wash is a bit thick.
