You can do this. I swear. In 10 minutes you'll understand the basics of circular breathing (though you will still have to practice a lot to get good at it!). And, you will be well on your way to being able to do it on your clarinet/sax/flute/didgeridoo

Finally! Thank you for solving a mystery that’s haunted me ever since my middle school beginning band instructor happened to mention circular breathing- and then never explained. When I was practicing circular breathing, my cousin asked me what I was doing. So I told him that I am practicing circular breathing and he got interested. I showed him this video and he accomplished it in 2 hours... RIP

Circular breathing is not difficult, but I think it's easier to learn when you are a kid. I've never had a hard time teaching this to a 12 year old. Adults are a different story because their muscle memory is a lot more set, their habits are a lot more ingrained. I learned when I was 12 or 13 and now, over 50 years later, it is still a part of my playing. I think that it should be considered part of the fundamentals of playing. It is valuable in embouchure development, breath control and is musically useful in phrasing. Good video! (I'm a trumpet player, btw)
