I love that the philosophy around 3d printers is that you're meant to use it to print its own upgrades, really gets you into the mindset of making a thing to fill a niche instead of buying it. Any one of these things could've been an off-the-shelf product but Bambu decided that no, you bought the printer for a reason, just buy filament and get cracking!

I just got an A1 combo for christmas and just an FYI, bambu labs includes the top mount screw kit in the box so you don't need to buy the $2 kit if you buy the combo SKU.

🚨ATTENTION🚨 There's been an official update from Bambu Lab for the A1 heatbed cable call back since this video was released. Please disregard the information on the first accessory that I mentioned. Bambu Lab has escalated the matter and they're saying that ALL OWNERS SHOULD STOP USING THIER A1s IMMEDIATELY. There are 2 options available to move forward. Option 1 - return/refund the A1 and receive a $80 credit in addition. Or Option 2 - wait until the end of March for Bambu Lab to send replacement parts and receive a $120 credit in addition.


I'll create a follow-up video shortly that goes into detail.

The first thing I printed was a cover for my screen. It's definitely not necessary but it looks pretty sleek and it keeps all the dust off of the screen

For those who have the newer A1 with the mesh cable, the Heatbed Cable Protector is not needed, only the older style cable on the A1 in the video.

Thank you sir! After a little less than a month having the A1 combo i've been coming back to this video. The majority of upgrades are pretty useful I recon.

And as mentioned below already Bambu did indeed improve the cable issue aswell there's screws coming with the printer for the extra's in the box so not needed to buy them indeed. Overal I'm still having euforic days when I see the A1 printing although I just installed the top mount which seems the vibrations are more of an issue but we'll probably get it better soon enough.

I find the scraper to be a bit too scrapy for textured PEI plates. In my experience, the best tool for the job is a scraper made for an oscillating multitool. Spend the money to get a good one and it should be good right from the package. If you cheap out, make sure you take the time to remove the burr from the scraper before use. Either way, these never fail me.

Just found your channel and this video and it has some awesome content. I purchased my first A1 with AMS in December of 2024 and proceeded to buy a second in January of 2025. Both of them have a different power cable than one shown in your video. It is now wrapped in a protective netting and seems to be a bit longer so that kinking is prevented. The poop catcher and the ability to move the AMS to the top along with the alignment tool, god sends. I'll be printing those right after this comment.
