Pro tip: go in with stacks of logs and wool. Bring a crafting table and craft the beds as needed to not clog up your inventory

Fun fact: ancient debris is the only block that can be moved by a piston that is fully blast resistant

I remember when I strip mined 45 minutes in the nether looking for netherite ore (which isn’t a thing) and I found ancient debris and dropped it . Then later I found it was useful so I took it up and got killed by lava

Tip: The highest netherite spawn rate is in a soul sand biomes

I always use a different color to fill in when I found lava so that I can know if I ever have to go back, not to break that block. If you just use more Netherrack you're not going to remember that there's lava behind there
