One way to make the end crystal explode downwards is to actually get rid of the obsidian below it. To do this safely, turn on the hitbox so you don't aim at the crystal while you mine.

Mining netherite is fun because all methods work all u need is a diamond or netherite pickaxe with efficient and u can strip mine or circle mine which is where u hold the button to mine and move your camera in a circle or you could use beds which work perfectly fine

i use to do this with beds and got tons but i was strip mining a lil bit ago couldnt find any so i was making sure it didnt change its still the same level althoug randomly i found some at level 50 lmao
