3 Apps to Tether Your Android Without Rooting

This week Verizon and the FCC reached a big settlement that will allow Verizon customers to use their smartphones as wifi hotspots at no extra charge. Previously, Verizon had been charging about $20 a month for the ability to tether your data plan to other devices like laptops and tablets. So we've got 3 apps to help you get an internet connection using your cell phone, without any hacking or extra bills.

You can use the android hotspot feature without paying the extra carrier fee if you just download a widget that toggles wifi hotspot. There are some widgets just for toggling wifi tethering, but I use Power Toggles because it has a lot of other toggles (like wifi, flashlight, cell data, GPS, etc.)

in iOS it is much easier, i just turn on the personal hotspot in the settings and boom it works with no restrictions and works in the three ways she mentioned in the video.

In 2012, I started using EasyThether and it was was okay. In 2017, I started using PdaNET/Foxfi which WAS WORKING GREAT on my Note 5. Now, I just bought the S10 Plus and NEITHER of the apps work. I am very frustrated. It does not make sense that we cannot use the 3G/4G signal we already pay for via our phone. Its like a Car Company telling you they are going increase your Truck payment if you hook a trailer to it.

I agree with you Tyler. I started downloading apps and somehow my S3 went sudden death so I just stick with the ones. It's mindboglling all these so called free apps downloads :-)

Now what, since foxfi does not work with the new ics update 4.0.4? How can we get wifi hot spot without rooting on sprint? (Galaxy s2, 3, and evo)

You can tether for free with your Galaxy S2 ;) It has an option to do that in androod settings.

Pda net is really good ive been using it as soon as it came out. Watching videos on laptop are fast "as long as you have good connection" and video games are also good

PdaNet just activates my hotspot app that came wirh my phone. And it deactivated.. I paid for the app as well.
