Does Science Contradict the Bible?

There is a debate amongst old and young earth creationism of how to read Genesis 1-2 in light of science. Old earth creationists claim that Genesis 1-2 is poetic and can be reconciled with modern scientific data. Young earth creationists claim that Genesis 1-2 is historical and does not need to be supported by science. Both sides have several theories on how to reconcile the discrepancy between the biblical text and science.

Great class! For me, the key for science vs faith debate is not about science or faith, but it's about Philosophy of Science. If you're theist, God created everything somehow. If you're atheist or naturalist, everything came up by chance somehow.
