I agree entirely. I totally disagree with this video. The guy made because I've tested both of those units out and I found the autel to actually work much better than the x tool. For example it gave Me actual data on a problem that the x tool said communication is unavailable. I compared the two scanners one gave real data. One made it look like there was a problem with communication to that sensor, which in fact was communicating and giving data. And the weird thing about this video was the guy picks the x tool but then there is an advertisement to buy the autel tool pinned in the comments. I find the whole thing rather weird

My XTOOL D8BT has already paid for itself in terms of money I've saved. This weekend I easily made a keyfob for my son's Jeep but I've already performed maintenance and other diagnostic work on our cars and also for friends for which the dealer wanted an arm and a leg. The 3 year free upgrade period and fast customer support is what drew me to the XTOOL.

AUTEL is an unethical company that takes advantage of its consumers. I acquired a maxisys pro in 2015 and had no reason to upgrade its software because it was compatible with all of my vehicles. A free update released an application that works like ransomware and installs a timer that prevents you from accessing the diagnostic part of the tool. Now, all I get is a “Software is not authorized!” message. When I try to use the diagnostic part of my tool The only available option is to purchase an upgrade from Autel for $1400.00. Product knotting is illegal in the United States, and this corporation should be severely punished for what they're doing to their customers in order to create cash flow due to the recent lawsuit Autel settled.

I have been analyzing these for a while and I was fooled and I found that this brand does not work very well on Nissan's at all. Is with many of these Chinese scandals. It's pretty much hit and miss. It may work great on one brand and not even work at all on the other

does this need subscription per brand per year? or just once per year and get access to all cars and functions?

Good video! I have spent a lot of money on scanners and the worst experience I have had was unfortunately with an Autel scanner. It just stopped whilst underwarranty and the supplier and Autel made every attempt to avoid attending to it under warranty. I still have this new scanner which is useless. So I won't buy one of their products ever again. I have found many better companies to deal with that offer much better products. I only hope no one else has a similar experience with Autel as I did, because it was really bad.

The Xtool D7 has new software that transformed a usable scan tool into a pro grade scan tool.

My first XTOOL D7 would not hold a charge (bad battery); returned it. Second D7 would not do a ABS brake bleed on a Honda Accord. Next, it stopped loading the the diagnostic software. It boots but the software stopped loading. I've had this on for 34 days. It's my third Chinese scan tool that seemed like a good deal but didn't work properly. Just saying my experience so far with the D7.

The big problem I found with X7 watch out tech-support is China and when you call the US tech-support one 800 number it goes to California to a law firm so I sent the scanner back and yes double check the number dialed at four times

I have Autel MK808 and it doesn't support bidirectional controls, future buyers keep this in mind, for this alone the xtool D7 is way better value for your money than the mk808.
Edit: mk808 has Active test now after Autel pushed OS update.

I currently have the Autel MK808, using it in a small 2-bay minor repair garage in Canada. It has worked well for what I use it for most which is electric parking brake retraction/maintenance and some abs brake bleeding, abs sensor faults.
Biggest pet-peeve I have with it is the lack of memory it has for the software it requires and it's ability to update with it's limited built-in memory.
I've seen a few of your videos on these machines and really suprised you do not address this issue on ether one of them. Would be nice if you could review their memory requirements and capabilities with ease of updating.
Other than that, great information.

Thxs for the tool review. I have a Cando C-Pro and the screen at video time 10:53 is the same. Question and this will make you not want to buy one. To upload updates, is this on a 2.4 GHz or % GHz? Reason I ask is cause I can't get my updates due to the 5 GHz modem. Called Cando and they said only way is by having a 2.4 GHz modem or mail it in for the updates. So based off the screen on the XTool, I'm going to take a wild guess and say it does it's updates on 2.4GHz. Here in U.S. it's all pretty much 5GHz and it's too fast for the Cando to get it's updates.

I had the D7, but switched to the MK808s. I’ve got a new Pathfinder and newer Ram 1500, both require AutoAuth. The D7 wouldn’t do AutoAuth for Nissan, but would for Ram. There’s a few more features including the ability to use a scope on the Autel and it’s really not much more expensive.

Now isn’t that a surprise you’d go for the xtool, and that’s the one you can give a code for discount 🤔🤔🤔🤔

I have question. What scan tool would you recommend for 2003 BMW M5?I own this vehicle and a dodge Dakota and I need a tool that will work with both. I have bought 3 so far from what I have seen on YouTube but I’m not happy with them. I need something that can read and reset fault codes on said bmw m5 as well as American cars ok . Thanks a lot
