SUMMARY:
- Canadians are famous for saying sorry all the time, even when the other person is clearly in the wrong.
- Approximately 90% of Canada's land area is uninhabited. Even though it’s bigger than the US, it has only 11% of America's population!
- It's illegal for polar bears in Canada to break into houses and steal food. So, if you see one rummaging around in your fridge - call the cops!
- Canada received its own flag in 1965, almost 100 years after it became a separate country in 1867!
- One area in the Hudson Bay region has less gravity than any other region on the planet. So, if you want to jump higher and weigh less, that's the place to be!
- How about this one: Santa Claus is Canadian. That's what Canada's Immigration Minister announced in 2012.
- In 1930, Canada's hockey team did so well that they were put straight through to the final game.
- Ottawa, the capital of Canada, isn't the largest city in the country. With a population of about 1 million people, it comes second to Toronto, the capital of the Ontario province.
- In a 2018 Happiness Report, Canada was ranked #7. I mean, even despite all that cold?
- About 10% of Canadians are either vegetarians or vegans. That means 2.3 million vegetarians and 850,000 vegans. Most of these people are under 35.
- The capital city of Canada, Ottawa, is at the top of the list of the world's coldest capitals.
- The lowest ever recorded temperature in Canada was -81.4 degrees F (-63 degrees C)!
- While driving in northwest Canada, be prepared to see license plates shaped like a polar bear!
- Wood Buffalo National Park, created in 1922 to protect the largest herd of roaming Wood Bison in the world, is larger than Switzerland.
- One of the most popular dishes in Canada is poutine. Crispy fries covered with cheese curds and rich gravy.
- Canadians are some of the friendliest people in the world. You probably can’t find a rude Canadian even if you try really hard!
- Lots of Canadians speak French as their first language. And Montreal is the second largest French-speaking city in the world! After Paris, of course.

I am Canadian and these are some of the faults in these facts I have noticed.

#10: Canada has two national sports. One is lacrosse and the other is hockey.
#11: The gravity levels are hardly changed so you won't be able to feel it. This usually happens around most large bodies of water.
#17: Canada's largest cities are
1.Toronto, 5, 430, 000
2.Montreal, 3, 520, 000
3.Vancouver, 2, 265, 000
4.Calgary, 1, 238, 000
5.Edmonton, 1, 062, 000
6.Ottawa, 990, 000
This makes Ottawa the 6th largest city, not the second.
This also shows that almost 5.5 million people live in Toronto, not almost 3 million.
#21: There are only about 32, 000 lakes in Canada.
#23: It is pronounced OAK-A-NAH-GIN
#25: It would take about 20 years to walk the Canadian coastline.
#28: The national animal is the Canadian Goose.
#30: Approximately 16, 000 polar bears live in Canada.
#37: The coin is actually priced at approximately $3, 000
#40: This is more a stereotype. Also, The Oxford Dictionary recognizes it as an exclamation, not a valid word.
#42: The McLobster is also available in McDonald's on the East Coast of the U.S.
#50: The largest French-speaking cities are
1. Paris, France - 12.2 million
2. Kinshasa, DRC - 9 million
3. Abidjan, Ivory Coast - 7.1 million
4. Montreal, Canada - 3.8 million
This makes Montreal the 4th largest French-speaking country, not the second.

Hello! I’m Canadian and I just learned new things I didn’t knew about Canada! Awesome! Thanks!
1. Question for other countries: When you are solving a problem with another person, does it happen that someone goes like “I’m sorry but…” or none of that?
2. Anecdote: I went to USA a few years ago in a hotel that had included breakfast. I took some pancakes and “maple” syrup and started eating. I noticed that the pancakes tasted SUPER strange and different. I asked my mother about it and she asked me: “Did you put some “maple” syrup?” I said: “Yes of course!” She replied: “Well that was Corn syrup, there is no maple syrup here cause it would be too expensive for the hotel.” I was shocked like WHAT and no long after I found out that Canada was the country that produced the most maple syrup! I was like: “Oh-“

I feel so happy to see my country shine. Cool facts I didn't know before, like Santa Claus is Canadian! I have actually been to St. Paul Alberta and have been to the landing pad. There are many flags there, and have an ice cream shop!
