Funny side note to this video. When i brought the Jeep in they were taking a while reading the code. When I asked what was taking so long they claimed it can take up to 1.5 hours for the computer to scan the Jeep. Told them i had already read the code and the service guy kind of chuckled and said most ppl dont know how to check their own codes. They Jeep was pulled out of the shop and a time for repair was quickly booked. And THATS why i HATE dealership garages and started this channel!!

Works great on my 2009 JK. To those having trouble, just be sure when you're turning your key on and off, you're not turning it completely off. It's from full off to full on, then back to middle position only, twice. Made all the difference when I got it right.

For anyone having trouble getting this to work, try doing it as fast as you can. I was doing it pretty quickly with no luck but as soon as I did it so fast the dash barely had time to respond it worked. Oil pressure sensor of course for me! Good luck

2018 Jeep Wrangler. Did the 3 times, and then started the engine. Got code "9A5CAP". GASCAP Thank you SO much. The dealer is 1 hour away, and I will just replace the "9A5CAP"

For this to work. Make sure your doors are closed your radio and heater or AC are all turned off. I was having troubles until I figured this out

Just wanted to tell you guys thats been working on cars ever since obd came out on cars....lol....I found out in 2000 after I bought my 1995 Jeep. Ive been using it for 23 yrs. I just thought everybody knew but I guess everybody learns at some time. It does work on the older cars also!

Agree. If you don't have a garage you trust to do the right thing than it a crap shoot...this is why I never go to the dealership, unless of course the warranty is still active.

thanks i'm gonna go check mine now and i did buy a warranty with my Jeep i love it but it has been a thorn in my side since i got it. but i know it's used so yea i will get my money's worth out this warranty...lol well couldn't get mine to come up but thanks for the tip

Btw don’t know if you’ve had this issue with your Jeep but with my current Jeep sometimes it’ll chyme once in a great while thinking a warning light will come on but never does, Doesn’t happen interminably though not sure if it’s just me just hearing things lol but gets kinda annoying

THIS TEST DOES NOT WORK IF THERE IS NO PROBLEM WITH YOUR SYSTEM! If you are curious as to whether your CHRYSLER or DODGE can read a check engine code - answer both questions - YES! 1. Do you have a digital message center in the instrument cluster - just below the speedometer (in the odometer area)??? 2. Is your check engine light "ON" (amber-colored engine light) while the engine is running??? My 2007 Jeep has this feature and it DINGED when the check engine light came on to display a loose or missing GASCAP.
