Hey guys, in today's video, I'm going to be showing you how to migrate content between your Unreal Engine projects. This allows us to copy and move files from one of your projects, so that we can use it in another project. In this example, I am using my main menu in another project to avoid having to remake it all over again.

Thank you for making short tutorials, everyone else seems to be making 30 min+ long tutorials for simple things.

This is so important, especially for avoiding rework and for collaborating with others. Thanks!

Very useful tutorial. Having to do everything over again sucks, and this will help. Just Make it Once and move from "Project" to "Project". Very Nice my Dude.

666 Thumbs up. Idk how many times I'll be back to this video in a row as I seem to forget the migrate process over and over but thank you so much for having this easy reminder video out here for us.

For some reason you can not add marketplace content directly to a UE5 project. This actually works nicely to use with marketplace assets to open them in UE4.27 and migrate them to UE5!! Thanks <3 (at least so far it works :'D) )

This video should have a little bit more about the technical side of migrating meshes etc. I for one have difficulty migrating projects with proper references.

The projects don't need to be on the same version.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! You saved me hours of work. I didn't want to have to retarget every bone in my MetaHuman again😵‍💫😰😫 Retargeting is one of the most boring things I've ever had to do. Why do humans have so many bones?!🤣

Hi, very nice tutorial. I am looking to automate this process in a C++ programm, do you have by any chance a hint where I could start looking for some initial help?

For anyone wondering, this just COPIES the files, it doesn't move them. So no need to worry and freak out about doing this. Also you can change the files in the project you migrate to without effecting your original project's files.

What's the point of having to first select all of the main menu stuff if the migrate panel selects everything to begin with?

Hey, thanks for the vid. A question: is there any way I could import level with the meshes already coloured? As for now I can indeed open the level, but I have to colour meshes manually.

In my project A I have a BP_MainMenu. In project B I have the same file but with a bunch of new changes.

I want to migrate project B main menu into project A. BUT when I do that, it’ll say the migration is complete but project A still shows my original main menu. What can I do differently?

Tried this and failed due to lack of RAM, why Unreal even has to load it into RAM/Virtual Memory first before copying it...
