Migrate IMAP email addresses & content between servers | 5 Minute Quck Guide

If you need to migrate email data from one server to another, unless you have a wizard or an in-built API to do so, it can be tricky. Not so much anymore with this REALLY useful free tool! Just simply enter the details of the server where the email currently is located, and then pop in the credentials of the new server/hosting company - and voila, all content will be moved, and you're then free to change the DNS/MX records!

Mmmm, handing over the account credentials to two servers AND giving access to all of your e-mails to an anonymously-registered web site hosted on OVH... What could POSSIBLY go wrong? <insert two-handed facepalm here> :-X

you could run this local but i think it's a good alternative. It's simply a batch file but on a remote server. If you have 2FA active and change the password after you will be fine.
If you really care about your mail safety don't use self hosted imap lol

This is not working for me. I want to transfer emails from a Centos Web Panel to a Cpanel server. Is there any way to do that?

I am looking to change host and this is an issue I am unsure of, if I transfer the domain will the emails still be there on the old host. As I never did this I have no idea, this may be of use thanks

I don't like hosted tools which are using imapsync. It's a piece of cake to run it from the commandline om your own PC or server.
You never don't know what is logged when you made a connection.

does it copy the emails from the old server to the new server while keeping emails on bother servers or does this tool delete the emails from the old servers in the process of putting them in the new server?

It would be really nice to have the self hosted version of this rather than using someone else's cloud service transfer your email customers data

Is there a command line tool that works locally for this? I dont want to give my credentials to a hosting... and to all my mails...
