This fire was intentionally started by a man who pushed a burning car down a cliff. There were WITNESSES 😢

Most likely it was a stolen car or something: The guy prolly didn't imagine what he was starting. Obviously he was committing something illegal... knowing those things I'm presuming it may have been more along the lines of theft, not like it makes what happened any better.

This is the culmination of having years worth of drought then when you do have a great year of precipitation the state of California hasn’t built any new water retention facilities since 1979. That means 95% of the snow melt and rainfall just gets drained into the sea.

Too much building has gone on in California. When I grew up there, we had fires every year, but not so extreme. There was less to burn. I'm so sorry for everyone.

Was up at lassen volcanic park. The scene was crazy. We had the pink sun. Sky covered in ash. Had never seen anything like it. Prayers to residents and to the firefighters and volunteers fighting these fires

Poor Paradise! All those early warning things will not help if there are no clear roads to escape. I suggest making about 8 more roads like a spiderweb radiating outwards from the town so there are many choices and escape routes. It won't matter even if they are just dirt roads, because in summer nobody is worried about mud. Just make some escape routes! Have busses ready to go at a moments notice and tractor trailer rigs that people can put belongings or pets into as they leave. Churches could pitch in and donate busses, time and effort towards this goal. We Californians felt so bad when that last fire burned down the town and killed so many people.

At 1:43, The reporter says. " This fire has consumed everything in its path.... " Whilst pointing to a demolished home with 20 or 30 trees right behind her that havent burned one needle. What on earth is she talking about ? Did the reporter mean to say , " This fire has consumed all the homes in its path, but not the trees "? Is that what she meant to say ? Because the trees are very clearly standing right behind her whilst the home is not.

Farmers are supposed to open all pens or gates so that, if they cant save their animals, they at least have a chance to run away on their own.
