Building infrastructure is a great part of domestic policy. Shows the public you care, increases quality of life and develops the country.

Tren Maya will actually be connected to the railroad network, specially to the Transismic Train which will connect the Pacific Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico.

The ones claiming this should be stopped, based on environmental concerns, don't care much for the people who actually live there. I live in Yucatan, and many people who are having difficulty finding employment will have it. The environmentalists from the US care about the environment, which is nice, but if they had a choice between the environment and the poorer people in Yucatan, they would choose the environment at all costs, even if it meant some people needed to stay in poverty. If they were poor themselves, they would have a different opinion

Ok you need more research on your story not only are they building the train with lots of stations they are also building house for people who were in a area where the train was passing by, also they are remodeling the interstate right next to the train building a bunch of bridges and rebuilding all the maya temples also a hotel for guest and Tulum airport . Insane project very massive

Theres a few mistakes in the video, its not being paid with debt, or at least Mexico isnt going into more debt that it has, because its been paying more than needed in the few past years. The video cites the PAN (Partido Accion Nacional) wich is an opposition party, as the ones saying the train wont ever see profit, the same oposition that claimed that USD would go from 25 pesos to 35 pesos with AMLOs government (its currently at 17 pesos) and the ones who opposed to raised the minimum wage (it has increased by 100% with no downsides to economy. So they are not really an expert voice in the matter. The video also says that the rail wont be connected with the rest of the network, wich is also false, not only it will be connected, but also another train line is being built known as "tren transistmico" wich crosses the country from atlantic to pacific ocean and wich is aimed to compete with the panama canal to transit merchandise trough seas.

They didn’t touch the subject of why it’s so expensive- the Mexican government is building houses for the people in the path of the train. Many people for the first time are having proper houses instead of shacks and they’re having pave roads and internet instead of dirt and poverty.

The trains for the Maya Train are build by a French company in a factory they have that is located in Mexico. They are build in Ciudad Sahagún, Hidalgo. So he technically isn't lying when he says they were built in Mexico.

The train maya will connect to the inter oceanic corridor which is the real main project to develop the south of Mexico. This corridor will potentially rival the Panama Canal. The train maya will connect to the two main ports of Mexico in Coatzacoalcos and Salina Cruz, so the argument that the only client will be Pemex is not accurate

The other parties are only mad because they see all that money being spent on projects that will benefit the people, and they don't have the chance to spend it on them like they always used to do.

Cancún is so beautiful (but, yes, the traffic isinsanely bad!!) and I met so many people that are super friendly and hard working, always serving you with a big smile on their faces! No matter how this project turnsout, I expect this generates more opportunities so the good people there mave more ways to provide for their families and set up a prosperous future for their children.

Those who complain about the Tren Maya in Mexico I personally invite them to go to Vancouver and take the tren to Toronto, then come and tell me, the ecological damage they did when they built that railroad, lot of hypocrite people agains Mexico. Viva Mexico, Viva el tren Maya and Viva AMLO.

The adversaries think they can just close this train and have the loss of billions. The train is scheduled to be connected to the national rail system. That is next, you forgot to mention that, Why? Look at the train out here in California. It was supposed to cost like 15 or 20 billion. It is now costing close to 100 billion and mounting, AND not even 1/3 has been completed. There will always be cost overruns. That is just how construction projects go. Amlo is way ahead of the game and the opposition does not know anything else but to try and stop his projects. He is laying the infrastructure for the future. he has built a oil refinery in record time and will be producing before year end. He is building the inter-oceanic train between two ports in Oaxaca, that will help get cargo across the two oceans, something that will make more sense later, as the Panama canal is going thru a drought period which is affecting the traffic. He has a lot of other projects that will be completed by 2024 when he goes out. the opposition is bankrupt in ideas. He is truly an honest politician. That is why he is doing great projects without going into debt to bankers. He is going to go down as one of the best.

Okay so being from California, I gotta say that 70% over budget and project completion within relative time-line expectations. Seems like a dream rail-line project execution. 😂😭

The costs increased due to the pandemic and the shortage of steel. If you wanted to make the same train today, it would be even more expensive. In addition, it is planned to connect this train with a Union Pacific railway network that reaches Canada, that is, if this train connects, it could send goods. or receive them from Yucatan to Canada by train
