What’s up guys and gals, I’m Kage848. I love to make videos for Youtube, mostly early access survival games like 7 Days to Die, Empyrion, Raft, Mist Survival, The Forest, and more! I also dabble in City Builders and strategy games like Civilization 5, Civilization 6, Dawn of Man, Stonehearth, Factorio and Rim World. I do at least two videos everyday of mainly tutorials, let’s plays and general gameplay footage. Thanks for watching my videos.
---------------------------------
This Early Access game is not complete and may or may not change further. If you are not excited to play this game in its current state, then you should wait to see if the game progresses further in development.

as you are walking up the scaffolding at 5:56 you walked past a pick axe. At least it looked like a pick axe.

5:13 to your right at the top of the ramp is the stone pick axe. Hate to say it but with this game you have to be observant. Go slow and don't rush or you miss a lot. Not specifically making that statement about you just in general. 6:42 is an observation point for mapping.

Another tip... If you want to build further out into the water, place a foundation in the water. You can place it lower than the starter foundations the game provides.

I have my base built entirely on the water and it's quite large. I actually have 3 docks built, one for each type of boat I have.

Good stuff! You can use your torch to instant ignite things, super useful to have the wall lamp going then instant light your torch from that, then light your camp fire from the torch etc, saves a lot of in-game time.

Use the OTHER foundation to build out over the water to widen your base. ☺️

That diving board is for the (mandatory) sacrificial volunteers.
The red box under you base is good for storage, can fill with craft from storage items.
Besides everyone on the other video suggesting using the other foundations for building on water, you can also build extra stories on your base.
And you'll love the look of the flat roof pieces for around your balcony.

I heard that the signal fire, which is made from yellow leaves, smolders for a few days, and you can light your torch from it, so you have a free fire starter for a few days to light all your stuff. Try it out and see if it works so I'll know!

Take your raft around the island and look at the little bitty islands, I think most of them have a supply crate that probably has food, also try diving along the edges for urchins and red algae!

Loving the series, mountain view of the area is nice to map from opens a lot more area as you are higher up.

the lookout at the top of the mountain is a great place to map from (the little diving board is another mapping spot that will get around infront of your cave base. The next step in the story isnt actually leaving that island, its checking out that tall island just north of you, but its still considered part of "hope island" area

2:15 "a cave and some boar stuff"
It will most definitely involve the boar.

Make the canoe. It is faster than the raft and has a decent amount of storage. Use that to sail to the north side of the island and make an outpost.

Tip: to place your chests closer together, fully build one and place an item in it before you place the next chest. That should let you get them very close together.

The high platform (diving board) and other high places can be good for mapping as well as the cartography trees.

5:14 - at the same moment Kage says that pickaxe should be somwhere on the ground he goes past it - 5:33 he even higlits it - I dont balme him it was the same for me, i knew where it was and still did the same it so easy to overlook espatialy if you go up
Arond 17 :15 i always colect bamboo here, make bamboo flasks and colect water than after going down the moutain place sap colector on one of date trees in area where i intend to make permanent base

Hey Kage. One thing you definitely want to do is read your books. They give you nice benefits. And I believe if you dump enough points into learning you get a skill point every time you get a skill level over 5. I’m not sure but I think that is how that works.

Flint is actually harder (not stronger) than the steel striker. The sparks that come off when the two are struck together are little specks of hot metal.

take the snake tails to use as bait for dogs with the small trap.

I think that spot at 6:43 was intended as a mapping spot.
