Definitely makes sense. The X factor one makes a lot of sense; Japan loves One Piece there too and the game has yet to take away all the IP has there. With TCGPlayer allowing people to resell Japanese cards, and seeing more of my LGS buy Japanese product as well, may become more of the norm in the future.

I love Japanese products and I made the switch over a year ago to collecting Japanese and also some Korean and Chinese. Just bought some High Class sets for some sealed collection

Good video but I feel like many "investors" need to hear something harsh: investing in Pokemon really isn't a wise decision. This is just a psychological way that people justify spending tons of cash on their hobby. We don't know the supply in the near future (reprints will undoubtedly ramp up given current demand) and we don't know the demand in the distant future. It is entirely possible (likely even) that in the year 2030 very few people will be interested in paying $500 for a box of unplayable cards that probably just contains a long forgotten pokemon like Ogerpon.

That said, if you want to just collect the art it *is* smart to buy the cheaper and high quality Japanese cards. But if you want to invest for the future buy stocks or even crypto. You're much more likely to see gains doing that. It's not a bad idea to think about the long term value of your collection in case you want to sell and make back some of your money but don't count on it being any sort of income source.
