I’ll be honest I liked this version of Ultron a lot better, for the reason everyone else dislikes him.

He has a lot of human characteristics despite being an A.I, but what I liked about this is that it’s not the traditional murder A.I but rather a flawed ideology.

Thanos shares the same ideology kinda, but as Ultron said it himself “I’m sorry I know you mean well, you just didn’t think it through.” And the huge difference here is yes Ultron is still trying to kill everyone, but it’s like he’s forcing evolution in the simplistic way possible.

Kill all current life on Earth but not in a way that life couldn’t be possible anymore, he wants the “New man” to come back stronger more resilient. So that the population could protect itself and successfully too without need of an Ultron or Avengers.

It’s rather a shame that in Marvel What if…? they made this Ultron back into his old comic book killer robot self, where now he wants the elimination of all life in the universe… he’s also over powered as fuck too in that, but that’s a story for another time.

It’s kinda funny how some people say it’d have been interesting to see Ultron succeed so that he could face Thanos. What they don’t realise is that Thanos wouldn’t have stepped on earth once he learnt that Ultron wiped the entire population instead of half which was his intention. They would’ve been best friends instead xD

In Our universe ( Avengers Age of Ultron ), Ultron has failed to possess Vision body in which Avengers stole the cradle to prevent him of causing humanity extinction.
In their universe ( Marvel What Ultron has succeeded in taking control of vision body to bring peace by destroying Avengers for good and by causing destruction of entire planet by summoning army of sentinels to attack every multiverse.

It's interesting to me that Ultron and Thanos' plan are really essentially the same thing. But because they're so totally different with Ultron being wacky the stakes feel child's play compared to Thanos
